"My spouse and I stayed 4 nights at this hotel for my birthday, and we were very disappointed; the hotel was the only disappointment of the trip. First of all, the staff barely speaks English, which, for a supposedly 4-star hotel, should be standard. Then, we were surprised upon entering the room to see that the bathroom door was not level... so it was impossible to close it, a disgrace. Furthermore, there is no sheet cover, just layers of fabric on top of each other, a nightmare for sleeping. The next day, we left at 11 a.m. and returned at 5 p.m., and the room had not been cleaned. My spouse then received a text message from the hotel stating that the cleaning could not be done because we were present during the cleaning hours, a major lack of professionalism. The next day, we purposely left a few crumbs on the nightstand and, indeed, they were not cleaned. So in summary, the housekeeper only changed the trash, refilled the already full minibar, and changed the towels and sheets. It is shameful for a 4-star hotel. The worst situation was breakfast. We went down to have breakfast, and while we were eating, a very rude woman came over, without saying hello, to ask us if breakfast was included in our reservation and asked for our room number. My spouse had a doubt and the woman left, only to return some time later with a sheet of paper to tell us that no, it was not, and that we would have to pay (which we accepted, of course). The lady left, and while we were getting more food from the buffet, she came back to tell us that we had to go pay, which started to annoy us. After we finished, we were heading toward the front desk and the lady, further away, told us again to go pay, as if we were thieves. I told her to mind her own business. This is totally unacceptable. The front desk did not react at all as we had hoped and only told us that they would follow up, which I do not think was done. Honestly, do not go there."

"Our family have just returned from a few days stay in the hotel which is brilliantly situated. The hotel was lovely with a comfy bed, fluffy towels and great shower. Bottles of water were replenished every day. There were not tissues in the room and some of the bedding did not fit. Surprisingly, there wasn’t a mattress protector. The bar downstairs was very welcoming and given the storms we spent a lot of time there. We managed a couple of hours in the rooftop bar which was lovely but unfortunately the weather stopped it being used very much. Overall, the staff were superb. The bar staff were happy and friendly and in the main, the reception staff were helpful and went out of their way to support our needs. Of particular note were Brian and Arthur. Unfortunately some communications with two reception staff were negative and caused us unnecessary issues as there was a lack of knowledge and willingness to help. Equally, the limited number of staff at breakfast were very harassed, trying to do as much as they could but this led to tables not being cleared, food not being replenished and the egg station often being left unmanned. There was a great atmosphere in the bar with piano playing and a very good DJ on Saturday night. Overall, we will stay again; hopefully with less challenging weather."

"We had booked four nights in a superior Eixample double room. The room was large and the shower was amazing. However, the first night was not good because we had a little noise, like a motor, that accompanied us all night and also the pillows were too soft. In the morning we mentioned it at the front desk, specifically to Arthur, who assisted us wonderfully. He offered to change our room (accompanying us and showing us the new room beforehand to get our approval) and, although they do not have a pillow menu, he made sure they brought us some pillows with a bit more firmness. From then on everything was perfect. Thank you very much Arthur for your empathy."
