The Editory House Ribeira Hotel

"The location of this hotel was perfect for us as it enabled us to explore Porto on foot and yet it was very close to the restaurants and bars by the river. The Reception team were super helpful and answered all our questions as well as recommending places to eat which were authentically Portuguese. The rooms were spotlessly clean with plenty of towels and exactly like the photos on their website. Despite being on a very busy road, the hotel was very quiet."

"This has been my single worst experience in more than a dozen cities across Europe. We needed two beds as I am traveling with my 16 year old daughter. We called ahead five days in advance to confirm we needed two beds (which they definitely have). "Yes ma'am, yes ma'am." (our travel agent called). Maybe that's not enough in advance, but we also called three weeks out and two months out. We arrived to one double bed. For a father and daughter. "I am sorry it's subject to availability sir. I do see here that you called in." So in the last three weeks, and in two months, you already had more people requesting two beds than you have? No response. Just like magic "If you want a superior room for €72 more, we have two beds." That is what we call a racket my friends. And our superior room? Dirty, banged up, no coffee, etc, etc. Oh and the wifi "doesn't reach the back of the hotel." The one star is for the water temp and pressure. That's it."
