Carris Porto Ribeira

"We had an amazing stay at Hotel Carris Porto Ribeira and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone visiting Porto. The location couldn’t have been better—just a short walk from the Ribeira waterfront, Dom Luís I Bridge and many of Porto’s main attractions. Everything was within easy walking distance, making it the perfect base for exploring the city. The hotel itself was modern, clean and very comfortable. Our room was spotless, well-equipped and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable! The staff were friendly, welcoming and always happy to help with recommendations and any questions we had. Their hospitality really made us feel at home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily book here again on our next visit to Porto. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"

"We’ve stayed in the hotel for 2 nights before starting the Camino. We had a nice room, not too big but it had a clean an good bathroom… The breakfast was very good, and we had a lot of options… bread, yohurt, cheese and meat, fruit, pasteis de nata, eggs, etc… The building is wonderfull, with a lot of archelogical elements… only small disadvantage is the complexibility to find your way inside the hotel, as the hotel exist of several buildings and levels. Highly recommended to visit Porto because the location is ideal and close to the most important parts of the town."

"Arrived late afternoon from Lisbon. Check in went well, accommodation to be paid for - I was a little shocked at €400 per night ( later checked booking.com and same room half this.) Lack of ambiance to reception area and thought this would change as we moved towards bar/rooms - sadly it did not. Yes we had a view of the river but could not sit out on standing only balcony. Allowed 1 cup of coffee per guest per day then additional €2 - no milk for tea/coffee available. Lovely fresh linen on an incredibly hard bed - woke up with more aches and pains - just what you needed for a day of walking, resorted to the sofa. Requested a sewing kit - told did not have, no apologies. To top it all had an Aperol one afternoon and menu states €11 but then charged €14 Poor breakfast - bread not replenished, fruit looked bruised and coffee in flask cold when asked for more was told finished/ this was 10am. Overall not a great stay the hotel lacks ambiance and the comfort level is poor - still no clearer why we paid such an exorbitant nightly rate."
