"I really enjoyed my stay at the Altis. As soon as I stepped in the door, I felt welcome and relaxed. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The view from the rooftop pool is gorgeous. Bedrooms are spotless. The food in both the restaurant and bar is great. It is in a good location, about a 15 minute walk to the Torre dos Clérigos."

"Positives: room is spacious. Clean. Negatives: Hotel is under construction. Concierge service ruined two of our four nights - made reservations that never existed upon taking taxis to the locations. Terrible when you can’t trust the concierge at a 5 star hotel! Roof deck crowded with little shade."

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Altis Porto Hotel! From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for. The hotel is located on a quiet, peaceful street, which was wonderful after a busy day exploring Porto, yet it is still close enough to walk to so many of the city’s attractions. We found the location to be excellent for exploring on foot. The historic center is only about a 7-minute walk away, with Livraria Lello, Clérigos Tower, São Bento Station, Ribeira, and the Palácio da Bolsa all within a comfortable walking distance. One of our favorite discoveries was the Crystal Palace Gardens, just about a 7-minute walk from the hotel. The park is beautiful, and the views of the Douro River from the gardens are absolutely spectacular. It became one of our favorite places to wander and take in the scenery. What really stood out to us, though, was the exceptional personal service. The hotel and restaurant staff were wonderful—friendly, attentive, and genuinely interested in making our stay special. They seemed to anticipate what we might need, and whenever we asked for something, they were happy to help. It was the kind of personal service that makes you feel like a valued guest rather than just another room number. We also really enjoyed the breakfast buffet. There was a very good variety, and everything was fresh and nicely presented. It was a great way to start our mornings before heading out to see more of Porto. We stayed in a Deluxe Balcony River View room on the second floor, which was comfortable and gave us the added bonus of a balcony. The only disappointment was that the trees outside partially blocked the view of the river from our second-floor room. That said, it certainly didn't take away from our overall experience, and I suspect a room on a higher floor would have a more unobstructed view. We especially appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout our stay. The evening turndown service, complete with chocolates, was such a nice surprise and made us feel especially pampered. The staff also consistently made sure we had anything we needed. All in all, we had a fantastic stay at the Altis Porto. The combination of the peaceful location, walkability, beautiful nearby park and river views, excellent breakfast, and—most of all—the genuinely warm and personal service made this a memorable part of our trip to Porto. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend the Altis Porto to anyone visiting this wonderful city!"
