"Our stay started on a disappointing note. When we arrived in our room (despite checking in at 7pm), the bathroom sink area had clearly had a maintenance issue. It was dirty, with used towels placed under the sink and on the floor. While I understand that issues can arise, the real frustration was the response from staff. When we reported it, we were told the room was not dirty and that it was “just a maintenance issue.” It was visibly unclean, and I would have appreciated this simply being acknowledged and resolved without needing to push the point.
The in-room amenities were also poorly thought through for two guests. We were provided with only one bottle of water, one Earl Grey tea bag, one English breakfast tea bag, and a single small carton of cream—which isn’t ideal for tea. At the very least, there should be enough for two people. The coffee capsules had already been used, and only two disposable paper cups were provided, making it impossible to reuse them.
On our second day, we were unable to open the safe to retrieve our belongings. Maintenance were unable to fix it and had to replace it entirely. This meant we lost a significant amount of time waiting in the room for the issue to be resolved, which was frustrating and disrupted our plans. When we returned later that evening, there was a bowl of fruit left as an apology, which was appreciated. However, despite having requested additional tea bags earlier, we were still only provided with one tea bag and one cream. A simple, practical resolution—such as providing enough tea for both guests—would have been far more appropriate.
We also dined in the rooftop bar. The staff there were friendly and welcoming, which was a highlight. However, the food did not match the menu descriptions. The bruschetta, described as tomato on bread with salad, arrived with an unexpected sausage element. The salad Niçoise was particularly disappointing—it resembled a carrot purée with new potatoes, artichokes, and mange tout, which is not what you would expect from this classic dish.
On our final day, housekeeping unplugged two of our personal chargers while cleaning the room. One of them was damaged as a result and no longer worked. I am uncomfortable with personal belongings being handled in this way—housekeeping should focus on cleaning, replacing towels, and refreshing the room, not moving or interfering with guests’ items.
Overall, this was a very disappointing stay with repeated issues and poor handling of basic concerns. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel."
