Tivoli Estela Golf and Lodges Porto

"Can safely say this was one of the most disappointing and worst stays we have ever booked. From no hot water in the showers to a power cut in the room to being promised a drink if we chose the “green choice” of cleaning the room ourselves and them just emptying our bins and changing the towels. We never had a bin emptied or our towels refreshed in 6 days and we received 1 lemonade in 6 days. They will try to take 500 euros off you at check in which is a lovely welcome for “incidental” charges and then try to charge you at checkout for more which is advertised within the stay. Nearly missed our flight arguing with them back and forth for over 60 minutes can safely say would not recommend to anyone. When voicing the fact we could not shower prior to our flight home and wanted to speak to a manager to complain we were met with the manager is not here he didn’t want to speak to us on the phone? No we explained we’d be back and forth for over an hour and would have to leave for our flight where they said they would PHONE THE POLICE on us if we didn’t pay these “charges” after stating very clearly at checkout in we would pay as we spent and didn’t want to be hit with charges at the end (we paid for every drink and room service meal as we had said we would) and still demanded over 200 euros at check out for golf fees when we had no hot water and no power the night before in the lodge. Also very frosty staff saying we weren’t allowed soft drinks in the spa etc just an overall very very poor stay and glad to be going home. Only had a buffet breakfast once whilst we were there and the rest of the days you had to order what you wanted and wait 30/40minutes for it. And be told no slippers allowed at breakfast. Trying to uphold a “upmarket” hotel atmosphere but haven’t learned basic manners, customer service or plumbing! Clearly."

"Fabulous lodges fitted to a very high standard. Breakfast superb. Staff very helpful and friendly. Special thanks to Carolina on reception who was so helpful advising on nearby restaurants and how to get into Porto. Only negative was the housekeeping and cleaning was a bit hit and miss, Golf course nearby very interesting, again with super helpful staff."
