Hotel Paulista

"This hotel is clean and tidy, central to most of the city and close to the Railway station. The staff and friendly and helpful. However it is very dated, our room was particularly small, lacked character and the lift…well, only big enough for 2 people & no baggage! The bathroom had its issues, if we’d have been any taller we’d have been stuck as the shower head and ceiling lacked headspace. The toilet seemed to be constantly running and the seat came off, both issues were reported and the seat was glued back on? Only about a foot between the bottom of the bed, and I’ve a few bruises on my legs where I kept catching the bed frame. Aircon was either on or off, very noisy and didn’t rotate. Quite an old look room and fixtures, there is a small fridge but no safe. Towels I would definitely take one! If you’re wanting a budget stay for a night or two then you’ll be fine but I feel not many more nights."

"Just returned from a mini break in Porto. Stayed in this charming hotel. Friendly, clean and cosy with a brilliant central location. Great value for money. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast basic but sufficient. Recommend for a great budget hotel. "

"Very friendly, helpful and comfortable. Great situation too. The owner could not have been more helpful. Take his restaurant tips too. It is close to the waterfront in the old part of town. I would definitely recommend it."
