Grande Hotel de Paris

"Very nice old style hotel close to lot of central Porto attractions. Good sized room with expected facilities. Unfortunate that a partially blocked sink we reported took 2 days to be fixed. Staff very helpful overall. Kept luggage stored on final day and let us use lounge to rest before a very late flight home. We opted for breakfast and glad we did. Excellent choice of hot and cold options with wonderful selection of fresh fruits. Would have rated 5 star if not for the issue with sink in room."

"This is a nice hotel that is terribly managed. I always book with breakfast included; I filter for this when I search in Expedia. When I arrived, the manager informed me that breakfast was not included, and if I thought it was, it was my responsibility to prove it. I have never been told this in seven years of booking with Expedia, and Expedia does not provide detailed lists of amenities in its receipts so there is no way for me to prove that I paid for breakfast. I thought it was an honest mistake, but I soon realized that management has no interest in delivering the amenities they claim to offer to guests. When my mom asked where the terrace and garden were, the manager lied and told her there were no terrace and garden. When my mom said it featured prominently in their ads, the manager said it was undergoing renovation (by the way, good luck sleeping past 8 am with the construction noise). The rooms are advertised as including coffee and tea, but the housekeepers did not refill them. When I asked at the front desk for more coffee and tea, I was informed that it was only included for one day. Every time I had to interact with the hotel managers they were either rude or dismissive, and I heard them interact with other guests who had similar complaints in the same manner. The rooms are nice and the hotel is centrally located, but poor management ruins this hotel."

"AC did not work 3 of 4 days No tv 2 of 4 days. Charged for breakfast I did not ask or use for 4 days. Very disappointing and very non pleasant stay. Street doesn’t allow Ubers or taxis difficult to get where I needed to go as only a pedestrian start!"
