"I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel. It is rated as a 4-star property, but it does not come close to meeting that standard. The rooms were in substandard condition and incredibly outdated. To make matters worse, there is a construction site right next to the hotel, which made it virtually impossible to spend any time in the room during the day due to the deafening noise. The soundproofing is non-existent; you can hear every single sound from the hallways and the other floors. Because of the constant noise, getting any sleep was nearly impossible. I strongly advise against staying here if you expect a 4-star experience, comfort, or a good night's rest. Avoid this place."

"Stayed at Vila Baleira Funchal with fairly standard expectations for a 4-star hotel, but unfortunately the experience did not meet them. The main issue was the noise level in the room. Directly opposite the hotel there appears to be a night venue / adult establishment, which generates constant noise, music, and disturbances late into the night. As a result, sleep quality was extremely poor. This is something that, in my opinion, guests should be clearly informed about in advance. Aside from that, the room itself was quite basic and lacked the level of comfort you would normally expect at this price point. Cleanliness was acceptable, but overall the property feels more like an average hotel rather than a 4-star experience. When raising the issue with the staff, no effective solution was offered, which was disappointing. Overall, not a terrible stay, but definitely not aligned with the rating or price. I would likely choose a different property next time."
