Royal Savoy

"Although the hotel is a little dated inside, the outside areas are beautiful. The rooms are excellent and have all amenities. The staff are really nice and helpful. The location of the hotel is really good with lots of nice restaurants close by, and not far to walk into the town. This is our third visit to this hotel and we will be returning,"

"The Royal Savoy is located in a fairly busy area but retains a tranquil atmosphere inside. Many guests are members of it's vacation club and retired so visit a couple of times a year. Staff are familiar with many of these regular guests. We had no problem finding sunbeds at any time of the day and the pools and surrounding areas are kept very clean. The spa is busy providing paid treatments and also contains a sauna and steam facility which is free to use but was very lightly used for the duration of our stay. Thatcher's bar holds a nightly happy hour session and is a pleasant place for drinks before visiting one of the hotel restaurants or the multitude of others within easy walking distance. The rooms are spacious and contain kitchenettes with crockery, glassware and cutlery. There is a dishwasher but no fridge (other than the stocked minibar). We had a wonderful stay at the hotel and found all the staff to be accommodating and helpful at all times. The one issue we had was a musty or damp smell in our room possibly from the air conditioning. Given the high standard of facilities and food the hotel does offer good value."

"Beautiful hotel set in a great location within walking distance from Funchal centre. Well kept gardens and pool area with plenty of sun loungers and comfortable seating areas. Our room was stunning with amazing views. All staff were friendly and professional. Excellent breakfast and evening meal."
