Melia Madeira Mare

"The hotel is excellent overall. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and include a lovely balcony — mine had a stunning sea view. The food was delicious, and I’d recommend choosing half-board to enjoy a varied and traditional dinner experience. The location is very central, the hotel is clean, and the service was consistently great. The only drawback was the sound insulation. The rooms have interconnecting doors (locked), which allow noise to pass through easily. I was next to a family with young children and could hear them crying very clearly at times. Removing or improving those connecting doors would significantly enhance the guest experience."

"Excellent base for exploring Madeira. Spacious room with balcony, parasol, table and chairs to enjoy the sea view, very good shower in the bathroom. Very good choice at breakfast to set us up for the days spent out walking, I love an omelette station! We only had five nights and were very disappointed to miss the Madeira night buffet. If we came again would probably not take the dinner option as there are many places to eat within walking distance, though we would definitely use the hotel for dinner too. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we had a very early flight when we left and when we booked an airport taxi the receptionist asked if he wanted a packed breakfast to take away which we really appreciated. It was my husband’s birthday when we were there and he received a card and a box of Madeira chocolates in the room which was a really nice touch."

"Just returned from a very relaxing 10 night stay at the Melia.Superb well managed hotel on the promenade. We had a sea view room with fantastic views over the lido area & the ocean. We had breakfast every morning & you didn't want for anything.Well run by Dinarte the restaurant manager backed up by staff who remain very loyal to the hotel.Nothing too much trouble for Lenin & Surita. The checking in at the hotel is made so easy by reception staff who have worked at the Melia for many years. I had an issue with some of my medication & Martim gave me good information of which pharmacy to use.. We have booked the hotel again for September 2026.
