Florasol Residence Hotel

"We arrived around 9pm and had booked two rooms. The rooms are a good size with basic facilities, including a fridge, microwave and utensils, although there is no oven. Unfortunately, our sofa bed hadn’t been prepared. We contacted reception, but as it was late at night there wasn’t much they could do, so we had to take spare bedding from the other room. The biggest concern was the balcony. A broken, rusty section had a sharp edge that nearly cut my hand. We reported it and staff came up quickly to inspect it. To be fair, they did replace the whole metal section of the balcony, although it took two days. Breakfast is basic but okay. The bacon and cheap hot-dog-style sausage rotation actually made us laugh! 😂 The pool is nice and relaxed, with plenty of sunbeds. The evening buffet is €20 per person without drinks, which we felt was quite expensive. The entertainment seems to be centred around the evening meal, so we didn’t try it. We did walk through the dining room around this time and, to be fair, it did smell nice! The rooms are big and the beds are firm but comfortable. There is only one fan in the bedroom, though, so the dining/living area can get quite warm, especially as this is where the sofa bed is. Rooms are serviced well, and for the most part the staff are smiling, friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a fairly basic hotel, but the large rooms, good pool area and friendly staff are positives. There were a few issues during our stay, but the balcony problem was dealt with properly in the end. I would definitely stay here again. "Had a two week stay here, on a B&B basis, staying in a one bedroom apartment on the 5th floor. Had panoramic sea views & overlooking the pool. The room was very clean (cleaners came daily) and modern. Well equipped kitchen. Large lounge area. Only fault was the balcony needed a little attention. Dated furniture the floor was dirty. The railings were a little rusty but it seems the hotel are in the process of replacing the railings. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful. Great location, close to restaurants and shops. Loved Madeira, I would definitely return."

"We had two lovely weeks at Florasol. Our room, which was a studio apartment on the tenth floor (on the corner) with a full view of the sea and pool area, was very spacious and nice. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. Very nice staff and good cleaning every day. The breakfast was good and there was a lot to choose from."
