"Last week we stayed in this lovely hotel, which is located in a beautiful location in the center of the old town of Funchal. The authentic details, in particular in the hotel lobby, are beautiful and immediately give you a warm feeling. The warm welcome feeling you experience as a guest is further enhanced by the fantastic team that works there, from the receptionists to the people in service and also the ladies of the cleaning, all of whom are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was very extensive and well catered, and for me with a lactose intolerance, there was plenty of choice! A tip I want to give; we participated in the tapas evening served in the Irisbar, there was a wide selection of all kinds of delicious tapas, however, the hot and cold dishes were served at the same time, so the hot ones quickly cooled down, which unfortunately did not do the flavor any good. A pity for the chefs who tried so hard. So a small tip, maybe use chafing dishes to keep the warm snacks really warm too. But that is also really the only thing I think could have been a little better. Nothing but praise for this hotel, definitely a recommendation for an undisturbed stay in Funchal!"
