Lawrence's Hotel

"Extremely disappointing experience and even worse complaint handling. Before booking, I contacted Lawrence’s to request an upgrade. Although the room we received may have been classed as an upgraded room, my booking confirmation stated one large double bed, whereas the room definitely contained two separate single beds. Calling it an upgrade does not change the fact that the confirmed bed arrangement was not provided. Since the stay, I have been passed repeatedly between Lawrence’s, Booking.com and the third-party accommodation partner, with nobody willing to accept responsibility. I made several reasonable attempts to resolve the matter directly by telephone, but my calls eventually went unanswered. I requested a full refund because the accommodation supplied did not match the confirmed booking. Instead of taking ownership and providing a proper written resolution, I have received an exhausting runaround. A hotel of Lawrence’s reputation should handle genuine guest complaints professionally and communicate clearly. Based on both the room issue and the way my complaint has subsequently been handled, I cannot recommend Lawrence’s Hotel."

"Beautiful, old fashioned hotel. Very small, only a few rooms. We got our room upgraded to Bella Viste which was a suite. View was stunning.. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast ok."

"We loved this hotel in Sintra. The t is the oldest operating hotel in Portugal and Spain. The areas are kept spotless and the restaurant serves great food. Breakfast was included daily. The location cannot be beat it us in the Zone and access to all areas is easy. The staff were both friendly and knowledgeable. I absolutely recommend this hotel"
