"This hotel is unique and beautiful. They took a portion of the old Train Station and turned it into a hotel. The service staff are attentive and the location is decent. If you are looking for a really good view of the river, you should probably look elsewhere."

"The Editory Riverside Hotel is located today at Santa Apolónia train station, in a building as historic as it is iconic, where it once housed the offices of the former REFER. This is a place full of stories that was once "home" to my dear father. This is because, in times, your office with a river view, is today an elegant hotel room. In the past, on February 18, 2025, with the precious help of a friend and former collaborator of this hotel, André Duarte and the current general director Sónia Fragoso, to whom I dedicate a special thank you, I managed to provide a very special "two in one" for my parents. This was my mother's birthday, and with the help of these two incredible people, I managed to surprise them and offer them a stay exactly in the room where my father's old office was located, where so many hours, days, months, and years were his "home." Having made the effort, care, and attention to identify it with maximum precision. The transformation of the office into a room and of the building itself into a hotel was extremely well done, transforming them into a sophisticated and elegant space, full of history and photographs depicting the history of stations and railway yards in the country, many of which my father visited. However, I could not fail to highlight and thank the kindness and friendliness felt by them, from the reception area to breakfast, providing an unforgettable stay and a memory that will be remembered for the rest of their lives. Finally, to emphasize the special thanks to director Sónia Fragoso who, in addition to all the effort in the pre-check-in phase, was also available to meet my parents in person.
