"Centrally located, close to Metro and walking distance to many attractions. Arrived at 0730 from Seville, Spain and reception was busy but staff was friendly. Went to explore the area until rooms were ready. When we entered our room on the 5th floor, we wanted to get a quick nap befoee dinner but heard this loud drilling noise coming through the walls. We called the front desk and was told renovations were ongoing on the first floor and work would stop around 1800. We were unable to nap. The room had a nice view facing the square, but you can hear sirens, and outside noise late into the night. The buffet breakfast was decent, nothing spectacular. If not for the noise, it would have been an enjoyable stay."

"Busy reception but staff were very helpful Breakfast choice was typical of a continental breakfast. It was served hot and presented well. The staff again were extremely polite, friendly and attentive. Bedroom is slightly tired but clean and comfortable. Towels lovely and soft, bathrobe and slippers were a plus. We ate in the bar one evening and the food was delicious, presented well. Our overall stay in the hotel was great. As the party organiser I was at one point of cancelling my reservation due to the bad reviews, but thankfully I didn’t. We have all been very happy with the hotel and will definitely recommend it to others."

"Poor hotel choice - we were with a group, so didn't have a choice. If you have a choice, choose a different hotel. The good thing was the location, central. That's it. Its a large hotel, with far too many rooms for the staff and building to cope with. There are huge bottle necks at many points - at reception, which resembles some kind of emergency relief situation at times - piles of suitcases and people hanging around in very little space. Then trying to get a lift is a lesson in patience. There are only one set of lifts working, meaning quite a hike to get to them for many, then you will queue and have to wait and wait. Each lift takes only 4 people, so they are usually full when they arrive. Breakfast was some kind of sweaty trial. So hot in that awful room - loud, chaotic, nothing of quality for breakfast - hardly worth bothering with apart from a boiled egg! Roof top bar - queue to pay high prices at an ok spot. We went there on day one just to get away from the dreadful noise of hotel works being done on the 1st floor - when we eventually got the lift. It was hard work being a guest at this hotel, which is pretty dated, especially bathrooms. Bedroom was a good size but looked out onto the roof at the back of the hotel - no view. Had a set meal on arrival which was pretty poor, very limited choice and not very tasty. We were stuck there with a group booking - be warned if you are looking for a hotel this isn't one you will enjoy"
