"Lovely hotel with a thoughtful gesture for our wedding anniversary
We stayed here for three nights during a long weekend in Lisbon, and we were also celebrating our wedding anniversary. When we arrived in our room, the hotel had prepared a lovely surprise for us, which we truly appreciated. I'm also fairly certain we received a complimentary upgrade, as we were given a room on the seventh floor with a fantastic view overlooking the street.
Air conditioning and the in-room safe were included at no extra charge, and the staff were always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help whenever we had questions or needed assistance.
If you're sensitive to street noise, it may be worth requesting a room facing the back of the hotel or bringing a pair of earplugs. The ambulance sirens in the area are quite loud and can be difficult to block out completely.
There are, however, a few areas that could be improved:
▪️ The bathroom door opens inward, which makes the space feel cramped and makes it less practical to access the sink. A sliding door would be a much more convenient and space-saving solution. It would also likely make cleaning easier for the housekeeping staff.
▪️ At the breakfast buffet, the glasses, cups, and plates are stored far back on the shelves beneath the food. Guests have to bend down and reach quite far to access them. If you don't know there's more tableware further back, it can also give the impression that everything has run out.
▪️ The breakfast selection isn't particularly extensive, but there is enough to provide a good start to the day. However, I did notice a few aspects of the service. On one occasion, a staff member collected rubbish and leftover food in a transparent plastic bag in the middle of the dining room. Seeing mixed food waste while you're eating isn't the most appetising experience.
▪️ I also noticed that crumbs were brushed off one table in a way that caused them to scatter onto neighbouring tables, which didn't seem particularly considerate from a guest's perspective.
▪️ The red sofa in the dining area is very low compared with the tables and could benefit from being re-padded or replaced to provide a more comfortable seating position during meals.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and especially appreciated the thoughtful gesture for our wedding anniversary. With a few small improvements—particularly to the breakfast experience—the hotel could make an even stronger overall impression.
I'd also like to add that the luggage storage after check-out worked very smoothly. You receive a claim tag, and only the hotel staff have access to the luggage storage room, which felt secure and well organised."
