A slice of Miami at the Magnolia
The Magnolia Hotel is effortlessly cool and endlessly fun, not least because of its 1950s American vibes. An expertly-curated retro-chic feel is just the beginning of what’s to love about this place – that has plenty of substance as well as style.
Days here are best spent making the most of the on-site facilities. If you’re all about keeping active, grab a racket and head for the tennis court or queue up your favourite playlist and work up a sweat in the gym. For something on the mellower end of the spectrum, the poolside is the place to be. Grab a drink, snag a sun lounger, and let the relaxation take care of itself. There’s a spa tucked away inside, too, so why not treat yourself to an indulgent massage?
If you’re all about exploring your surroundings, you’re in luck. Bike hire is available in reception, so you can get to grips with the Algarve with ease. There’re a couple of beaches within biking distance, too, so why not hop on and head for the shoreline? If you prefer to drive, the nearest beach is about seven minutes away by car.
As for the food, Mediterranean-inspired dishes are served up in the laid-back surroundings of the on-site restaurant. Mosey over to the poolside bar after dinner and you can indulge in an expertly mixed cocktail. Visit in the summer and you might even be lucky enough to catch a movie night at the outdoor cinema.

Find out more about Quinta do Lago
There’s one obvious reason visitors flock to Quinta do Lago, and you’ll spot it the moment you arrive. This is a golfing heartland, where many an international championship has been held. But there is so much more to Quinta do Lago holidays than clubs, caddies and teeing off. Bolstered by the opening of a multi-sports training complex, the tennis scene in Quinta do Lago is becoming bigger every year, and increasing numbers of holidaymakers also come here to cycle – either in the challenging Serra de Monchique mountains or along the laid-back coastal trails.
