Real Marina Residence

"The apartments are in an ideal location. There are a few bars and restaurants under the apartments and across the road at the Marina it is about 10 minute walk to the Market area. We were there in October and the bars and restaurants below the apartments were relatively quiet maybe in the summer not so much. The apartments had everything you needed. They just need a little bit of care and attention and some updating to make them fantastic. The pool area at the top of the apartments wqs something that swayed why we booked these apartments, however was disappointing. The area was a bit unkempt. Some sunloungers had seen better days and on a number of occasions there were not enough to go around the number of guests wanting to use them. You dont want to be there all day but it is nice to come back to hill out for a bit. The pool was not very big and cold. The apartments are very secure and plenty of parking available. There was a green mark around ours all week which put us off. You can use the hotel pool but you have to pay 35 euro each that does include food and a drink, there are so many lovely local restaurants that we felt that there should be concession for people staying in the apartments if they wanted to use the pool area."

"Our apartment certainly was not 4 star. There was holes in blind, an uncomfortable bed settee, rock hard bed, room cleaned once in 11 days hallway with mould and wallpaper peeling off walls, a pool on floor 5 with green and black dirt around the top and dirty sunbeds with rips in some. Bits of decking missing. Couldnt sit on balcony because of constant buzzing from air con unit, reported 3 times. 2 stars at best."

"My husband & I stayed in apt 596 for a week earlier this month. The apt was 2 bedroom which we didn’t really need but was all Jet 2 had available at that time. It was a spacious area & very well equipped in a good area close to most amenities. We did miss a supermarket close by just for water, milk & few necessities as we didn’t cook in the apt at all but it was a 15 min walk at least each way to buy a bot of water. The rooftop pool was bit of a letdown. First few days it was ok but by midweek there was lots of dirt lying in the corners & around the edges had a layer of green scum. A lady there for 2 weeks told me it had been like this the previous week. We did complain at the hotel reception twice but was only cleaned the night before we left which meant we had no pool for half of our week. It’s not a big pool & sunbeds are in need of a refurb but we would’ve used it had it been clean. We got the impression the hotel didn’t really want to be bothered with the residence guests as we enquired about using the pool there but even we had paid 35 euros each for a day, we weren’t guaranteed a sunbed as the hotel residents got 1st choice we were told. All in all the apts themselves are great if you don’t require a pool but with no beach at Olhao I think a pool is a necessity!!"
