"Visited here in June 2026 for 7 nights.
I selected this hotel from internet searches and other reviews, gotta say, my research paid off. This hotel is excellent and I would highly, highly recommend it.
In 2025 I stayed in another excellent hotel in the Algarve, the PortoBay Blue Ocean. I wanted to go back there but the prices were a bit much this year. While Lagos is a bit further down the coast and a bigger transfer from Faro, it was fine. I managed to get a return transfer for €100 (Airport Taxi Transfers) excellent service by the way.
The hotel is modern, clean, the rooms are gorgeous, the beds and the pillows really comfortable. Here is a basic thing that they done and that no other hotel I stayed in done before, they put a fresh 1L bottle of water in the room every day. Simple, it doesn't cost much but it was so welcome and appreciated.
There isn't much in the close vicinity of the hotel, there is a small store about 5/6 mins away that only takes cash. So for supplies you really gotta go into Lagos.
The bathroom was beautiful, good size and the towels were proper. Proper bath towels, full size, not pretend bath towels. I did have a small problem with the sink, it wasn't draining good. Mentioned it to reception going out in the evening, sorted when I got back.
The internet ....... Brilliant. I like my sport and even lying on the sunbed 50m from the hotel I was able to stream to my laptop and watch the world cup and Royal Ascot.
Only ate Breakfast there, no evening meals, breakfast was very good, no complaints here, everything you would expect.
The bar ...... two nice Barmen I met during my stay, very pleasant and very good at their job, remembered my room number and what we drank.
The pool ......... Okay here is why is doesn't get 10 out of 10 .........
The umbrellas are bolted to the ground. This means (and I am Irish and skin like Casper the ghost) they can not be moved, instead you gotta move your bed. This is not easy and at certain time of the day, the shade is in the pool or the garden behind. Not so easy to move the bed to these locations.
We ate beside the pool each day ...... The servers are really pleasant and do a good job, but it is slow. Ordered a chicken wrap and fries ...... took almost an hour. Anyway, I was not in a rush, but you gotta order just before you get hungry.
Getting into Lagos ...... Okay the hotel is not in the heart of Lagos, Its about a 15/20 min walk into Lagos. We used Bolt every evening, what a service, between €3 and €4 to go there, €5 max when its late. Big shout out ........ we left a bag/present in the back of the Bolt one evening, I rang the driver, she dropped it back to our hotel and did it for free, would not take a tip or the price of the car coming back. Fabiane, gotta give her a shout out. This is the kind of service that says, this is a great country, we appreciate your business and we are here to help and we are honest and welcoming country. People like Fabiane is what drives and promotes tourism.
Sun beds ..... no idea how full or not the hotel was, but no rush for beds in the morning. Plenty available. They also have a choice between Cabanas and sunbeds, all free.
This hotel is quiet, peaceful, beautiful and perfect for a relaxing break away.
Regards
Colm."
