"Our stay at the Carvi Beach Hotel was very enjoyable. I’ll start off by saying it is (we’re here on our last night), very clean and professional. The in hotel restaurant (Luca’s rooftop) has excellent food although we found the service to be the slowest we’ve encountered in Portugal thus far. The included breakfasts (at Luca’s) was ample however the tiny sausages were tasteless and I didn’t enjoy the coffee at all, but that, of course is individual taste. The hotel is a 20 second walk to the beach stairs, a 1 minute walk to the coastal boardwalk and a 3 minute walk up to a tiny market with just about everything. The front desk is very accommodating and friendly. Here are the drawbacks from my perspective. 1. If you’re up before 8 AM, there is nowhere to get coffee in the building. The front desk told us to walk at least 15 minutes to a place that’s open early to get a coffee. After 8, it’s only available in the restaurant (if your breakfast is included). 2. I like to swim and enjoy swimming underwater. The pool is not balanced (HP) and I could not open my eyes underwater, it stung badly, but there were always loungers in the sun by the pool. 3. There was a young guy making drinks at the pool bar on our first day. He didn’t know what he was doing and took almost an hour to bring our drinks and they are very pricey. Also, they would not allow drinks or snack to be charged to the room, cash only. I’d say go to the little shop 50 feet toward to ocean and grab one of their drinks from their cooler. Much faster and cheaper. Other than those 3 things, I’d come here again. The rooms are large and our balcony from which, we could gaze at the ocean, was huge! I’m talking 12 feet by 27 feet long with two loungers, a small table, a large table and two chairs plus a drying rack. We booked directly with Carvi Beach and for doing so, they gave us a bottle of wine in the room. The walk to many restaurants was short and safe as was the 25 minute walk into town. Come and enjoy!"

"Highlights of our stay were definitely the staff, the proximity to a stunning beach and cliff boardwalk hike, and the rooftop pool. Breakfast was included and was decent. It had something for all palates. The bed was comfortable (I have a back injury so this paramount to me). We had to change our itinerary last minute and headed early to the Algarve. We booked in same day and made it in late that night. We were warmly welcomed by Silvia at the front desk. We got the last room in the hotel. It was clean, simple and the bed was comfortable. Our time there was excellent but for two small issues. The noise from others guest in the hallway was noticable one morning, and one day the cleaning supplies were left outside our room for some time. There was a strong smell of bleach after they cleaned, but it disappeared... there is definitely no worry that things are sanitary in this regard. One of the top highlights was definitely the staff, especially Silvia who went out of here way to help us and make us feel welcome. Whether at the front desk, in the restaurant/pool deck or the cleaning staff, the staff were all wonderful. They were very warm, friendly and welcoming. The recommendations for activities and restaurants were on point. Overall, we would definitely recommend staying here if you are in Lagos! (Stop by the pool one afternoon to soak in the view and relax with a drink - Irene makes a great white wine sangria!)"
