Smart hotel in tropical gardens

There’s a tropical feel to the Pestana Alvor Park, a contemporary hotel with glossy shrubs decking out indoor public spaces, and gardens filled with palm trees cloaking the grounds outside. The surrounding greenery gives this place a peaceful, tucked-away atmosphere, but it’s a short walk from the bars and restaurants of Alvor town centre and the nearest sandy beach.

Lounging by the waterside is made easy, thanks to a good-size swimming pool set in a sun-trap terrace, and a generous supply of sunbeds and parasols. Other amenities include a well-equipped gym and a snooker area for family games. The lobby bar, meanwhile, does a mean line in cocktails and is open until late.
