Vila Gale Cerro Alagoa

"We had an excellent stay here, we are a family of 7 with ages ranging from 7 to 18. We had a suite and a room, both with a view of the sea and the pool, and the rooms exceeded our expectations. The housekeeping team were fantastic and the rooms were spotless every day. I agree with previous reviews that there are large groups of golfers, but they were polite and respectful and you could not hear anything from the bar with the doors shut at night. The pool area was great, could always get sunbeds and all the bar / pool bar staff were friendly and helpful with expected hotel prices. Short walk into the old town, far enough away to not be disturbed by noise but close enough to find a nice spot for dinner and for the older kids to go out for the evening. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful, getting us a large taxi if Ubers were unavailable. Buffet breakfast suited us, could always find something for everyone and we went a bit earlier if we wanted a quieter experience. Fresh Omlette station was a hit with our family. I had a lovely massage with Jessica, and the spa area was exceptionally clean and welcoming. We would definitely recommend and hope to return again"

"We were two couples for 5 nights. The room was comfortable despite being old-fashioned. The buffet was more than ordinary. But the most negative point is the seagulls in the pool. Unsanitary ☹️"

"Been going here for the best part of 15 years, love the location and the staff. We must have been here at the same time as Wayne as I recognise his comments on the group of Irish, or to be precise Northern Irish, like me. They were a bit loud and out of order, but I imagine that if you aren't used to it our accent is strong and slightly intimidating and likely to make the situation worse. Its also true to say that the rooms are now definitely due a refresh, I cant say that they have changed too much over the years. That said we will be back next May."
