"The hotel itself is fairly decent. The rooms are basic, but they are large, very clean, and housekeeping does a good job. The pool area is also cleaned every morning, although the process can be quite noisy. One downside is the shower pressure, which was almost non-existent throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, our overall experience was affected by the customer service and atmosphere. Upon arrival, my friend and I (both 27-year-old women) were asked to pay a €200 damage deposit and were presented with a lengthy list of rules and restrictions. While I understand the need to protect the hotel and appreciate that they may have experienced issues with large groups of younger guests causing damage in the past, it felt excessive in our case. We are both mature adults who came for a relaxing holiday and certainly didn't come across as the type of guests looking to cause problems. The approach felt quite unwelcoming and gave us a negative first impression from the moment we arrived.
A particular member of staff, Marcus, was consistently rude during our stay. He regularly walked around the pool area inspecting guests' bags for any sort of "contraband," which felt intrusive. On one occasion, he turned off the music and shouted at two young men for jumping into the pool and enjoying themselves, despite them not causing any disruption to other guests. He then made them leave the pool area.
We also experienced a number of issues in the restaurant. On several occasions, I ordered a single beer but was charged for and served two instead. While these mistakes were not major, they happened often enough to become frustrating and contributed to the feeling that guest requests were not always being listened to.
On another occasion, our meal arrived without the fries that were supposed to accompany it. After waiting for some time, I politely reminded the staff and asked if the fries could be provided in a takeaway container, as we had already finished eating by then. The container was simply handed over with no acknowledgement of the mistake. When I pointed out that the fries had originally been forgotten, there was no apology or recognition of the error. Small issues like these can happen anywhere, but the lack of communication and customer care made us feel as though any request was an inconvenience rather than an opportunity to help a guest.
I also had an unnecessary disagreement with Marcus when ordering a Caesar salad. I simply asked for the bacon to be removed because I don't eat it, but instead of accommodating a straightforward request, he argued that it "wouldn't be a Caesar salad anymore." And kept going back and forth with me about this until I simply had to walk away from him, it felt like a simple customer preference had become a debate.
Throughout the holiday, I was left with the impression that any request, however small, was viewed as an inconvenience. Every interaction with this particular member of staff felt confrontational, and rather than trying to help guests, he often seemed determined to argue the point.
The cleanliness and room size are definitely positives, but the overly strict atmosphere and poor customer service mean I wouldn't choose to stay here again."
