Experience a hotel like no other

Discover the rich history of the SS Rotterdam whilst enjoying an impressive range of amenities. Collecting stories since 1959 and now permanently docked at Rotterdam, this colossal ship – 228 metres long, 28 metres wide, 51 metres high – has been partially redesigned to accommodate new bars, restaurants, a grand ballroom, escape rooms and, of course, hotel rooms.

You’ll now find spacious four-star suites in place of the cabins that used to host guests travelling to New York back in 1959. The suites all have 50s-style décor, paying tribute to the SS Rotterdam’s heritage.

When it’s time to wine and dine, the Ocean Wine Bar is an ideal place to relax on board. Enjoy a wide range of beverages and charcuterie platters while you ease into the night. It’s also worth checking out the Captains Lounge and the Lido Terrace restaurant, where you can dine while taking in views of the Rotterdam skyline.

For a bit of fun, there are heaps of activities for the whole family. Check out the tricky escape rooms, guide the kids to the children’s playroom, or splash around the pool while you soak up some sun.

However you decide to spend your time, you’ll have a fabulous stay at the SS Rotterdam.

Find out more about Rotterdam City

Rotterdam city breaks offer an escape from the ordinary. From architectural rarities to surreal street art and alternative nightlife, this is a destination like no other. Cool to the core, it also offers plenty for shopaholics – lively Lijnbaan was the first pedestrianised shopping street in Europe.

Much of Rotterdam had to be rebuilt after the Second World War, but some of its progressive pre-1940s highlights remain. A walk through the city centre takes in Mediaeval masterpieces, futuristic living concepts, and sky-high giants – it’s no surprise that the city is home to the International Architecture Biennale and the Netherlands Architecture Institute.

Rotterdam’s buzzing heartland is the Cool District. Daytimes here are all about chic boutiques, edgy exhibitions, and funky cafés, while the nights come alive with bustling bars, global bites, and quirky theatre shows. Love dancing into the early hours? Clubs in the central Witte de Withkwartier area blast everything from avant-garde jazz to old school techno.

Love-struck couples adore the Feijenoord district’s romantic blend of city views and trendy food – don’t miss the Fenix Food Factory – while the Noord district offers families park picnics, canal walks, and trips to the roaringly good Rotterdam Zoo.
