Hilton Rotterdam

"Stayed at Hilton Rotterdam in December during the finals of the handball VM. When we got back to our rooms Sunday evening to share a bottle of wine, our wine glasses were missing both in our room and our friends room. The wine glasses were travel packs made of hard plastic. Two of them was in my suitcase with the lid closed but not zipped. I reported this to the hotel lobby and after some time got to borrow some glasses whit the promise that the hotel should investigate. Next day I got the message that the glasses was removed because they belonged to the hotel. The hotel failed to investigate the issue. The wine glasses was clearly of plastic and we never borrowed any glasses. The hotel should never remove private stuff from the room and never search my suitcase. After an e-mail I got an apology but no compensation."

"I arrived early on a rainy day, and one of the staff, Ms Natthapon Phetnak was really lovely and super helpful. I told her that I travelled 24 hrs with 2 flights and a train, and she offered me a room before 12 pm. Location was great, next to a metro station, short walk to the tram, and walking distance to the Central station (if no rain). Breakfast was absolutely amazing. Staff on Sunday the 26th Oct were really nice. Will be back again."

"I was rather impressed by this Hilton. It’s steps away from Central Station and very centrally located. The pre-arrival email was useful and informative. Thanks to my Hilton Honors status we were upgraded to an Executive Room ahead of our arrival. The room was of a decent size and the bed comfortable. As the room had been upgraded fairly recently, there were plenty of lights and sockets (even a British one + USB A and C). The HVAC control panel was rather odd, but we eventually got the hang of it. The system was quiet and worked well. The blackout curtains did their job. The bathroom was also modern and the shower was large, although more water pressure wouldn’t go amiss from the rain shower. The breakfast buffet was of a good quality, including fresh juice and made-to-order items. The lounge was of a decent size and the drinks selection was good. The food selection wasn’t particularly extensive, though, and it’s very much just snacks. The lifts could do with an update and clean – the floors looked dirty throughout our stay and the pleather was peeling off the walls. There was also a food tray left in the corridor all evening and morning – not a great look."
