"Extremely Disappointing Experience at Hilton Rotterdam – Mold in the Room and Unprofessional Staff I am currently staying at Hilton Rotterdam, and I must say that I am extremely disappointed by both the condition of the room and the way our concerns were handled by the reception staff. We discovered mold in one of our rooms, which is completely unacceptable, particularly for a hotel operating under the prestigious Hilton brand. What shocked me even more was the receptionist’s response. Instead of taking our concerns seriously, she claimed that mold was normal and not dangerous. This statement is not only concerning but also demonstrates a worrying lack of understanding of basic hygiene and guest safety. We requested a room change, but the receptionist was unwilling to accommodate us. Instead, she initially offered a 10% discount, as though a small financial compensation could somehow resolve a potential health and hygiene issue. To make matters worse, her attitude throughout the conversation came across as arrogant, dismissive, and completely lacking in professionalism. Rather than showing empathy or making a genuine effort to resolve the situation, she made us feel that our concerns were unreasonable. Let me be very clear: Guests do not book a five-star hotel expecting to find mold in their rooms, nor should they have to negotiate for a clean and safe environment. A 10% discount is not a solution. Proper hygiene, guest safety, and respectful customer service should be absolute minimum standards, especially at Hilton. I have stayed in many hotels, and I genuinely find this experience unacceptable for an internationally respected luxury hotel brand. I sincerely hope Hilton management takes this matter seriously, investigates the condition of the rooms, and addresses the unacceptable way guests’ legitimate concerns are handled. A five-star reputation should be reflected in five-star standards, not just five-star prices. Extremely disappointing."

"Classic Hilton quality. Attentive staff, spotless rooms, excellent food, great location. The 10-minute walk from Centraal Station with wheeled luggage is a snap. Subway is mere steps from front door. Urban noise was never an issue at all at any time of day. Do NOT miss the Executive Lounge experience. We enjoy it with Hilton Diamond status along with room upgrades. First class experience on both ends of a Holland America Line cruise."

"I stayed here for a week whilst on business in Rotterdam and was generally pleased with the hotel. Staff were excellent -really friendly and helpful. My room was spotlessly clean and had all necessary items for a business stay except an iron - available on request. Breakfast was good but a significant omission was decaffeinated coffee in the machines. Every morning I had to ask someone to make this for me which took a while to come. A hotel of this quality should have it readily available. A goof feature of the place is the small fitness room which I took advantage of on rainy mornings. It is well located for restaurants, the Civic Hall and the World Trade Centre. Overall it was an enjoyable stay and I would return here."
