Hampton by Hilton Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

"I was warmly welcomed by Davinia and another lovely, smiling female staff member. My room was 3rd floor. Very clean and comfortable, no complaints at all. Excellent breakfast selection and a nice chat with Marlon in the lounge after breakfast. The team really keep a nice, rolling system. I think the service is great as is access to the train station. Yes, I will definitely stay again in the spring. Reasonable prices for my twin room. Well done. Sending greetings to you kind staff members from Liesa."

"This has to be the worst Hampton around. After checking in the room I was given was supposedly ready for use but although the bed was made, there was an empty can sitting next to the bed and rubbish behind the door to the room. Furthermore upon pulling back the duvet on the bed there were numerous long hairs inside the bed and a small dirty patch looking like excrement. It was concerning that the bed was made and that this was deemed presentable to a new guest. After contacting the reception, they stated that a mistake had been made however this does not fit with the bed being made and the discharge of other person(s) within. An offer of a room change and two complimentary drinks at the bar was offered. The bar closed at 22.30 and having already had plans to be away until 00.00 I decided to use the complimentary voucher just as I was leaving for my prior engagement l. This took some time to be served at the bar and the person serving had no idea what a Red Bull drink was and I was left to choose from the very limited selection of alternatives. The second room was smaller than the dirty room and although a good sleep was had, this was probably due to being extremely fatigued at the end of the day. Breakfast was mediocre and could do with the addition of hash browns at least. This is another Hampton which could learn from the excellent breakfast experience offered by their counterparts in Utrecht. The hotel seems very male dominated and it was not until breakfast that I encountered a female member of staff, but only one. I would t even suggest this hotel is convenient for the airport, it is not. The train station is fairly convenient although you will need to walk all the way along the platforms to the other end as that is where the trains stop. There are far better options than this place, choose one."
