Stylish stay in the Canal District

Zoku Amsterdam offers you a home away from home, with a range of room styles, including hybrid loft spaces more like apartments, but with all the comforts of a hotel. Located in Amsterdam’s Canal District, the hotel is surrounded by places to eat and drink, plus it’s an easy walk to many of the main cultural sites. It’s only a three-minute stroll to metro, tram, and bus services, too.

The top floor is Zoku’s beating heart. Mingle with other guests in the open-plan common space and even challenge them to a game of ping pong or Mario Kart. Get up close with the chefs in the restaurant as they cook you a delicious dinner, or head up to the rooftop bar and grab a cocktail to drink out on the leafy terrace. There’s a packed events calendar to keep you occupied, too - everything from DJ nights, to yoga classes and even film-writing workshops. No wonder Forbes called it ‘one of the 25 coolest hotels in the world’!

The rooms come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from the ‘Bootstrap’ bunkbed room – that still comes with a private bathroom – up to the ‘Loft’ room, which is more like having your own apartment to kick back in during your stay.

    Public transport

    There’s loads to see within walking distance, but plenty more just a hop away on public transport. The hotel’s a three-minute stroll from the Weesperplein Metro Station, which gets you to Centraal Station in just three stops, and you’ll also find tram and bus stops outside Weesperplein. And if you really want to zip around like a local, why not hire a bicycle?

    Museum Quarter

    Hop on a tram and you’ll reach the Museum Quarter in just 12 minutes. As the name suggests, you’ll find some of Amsterdam’s most impressive museums and galleries here, including The Rijksmuseum, which covers 800 years of artwork by masters such as Van Gogh, Rembrandt, and Vermeer. Van Gogh even has a dedicated museum nearby and the area’s also home to Vondelpark, the city’s biggest open space.
     

    Waterlooplein Market

    If you have an eye for a bargain, you won’t want to miss this busy flea market. Six days a week, there are 300 stalls selling an array of second-hand goods, vintage items, clothing, and antiques. Only 10 minutes from the hotel on foot, you can haggle to your heart’s content – and you won’t have far to haul back anything you pick up.
