What Room Mate Aitana has to offer
Public transport
There’s loads to see within walking distance, but plenty more just a hop away on public transport. The Vijzelgracht Metro station is right outside the hotel and will get you to Centraal Station in five minutes, or you can walk there in 15 minutes. From Centraal, you can catch fast rail links to the airport, and other Metro links across the city. You’ll also find tram and bus stops outside the station. Or, why not rent a bike from the hotel and make use of the city’s excellent cycle routes?
Museum Quarter
Hop on public transport for 20 minutes or cycle for 15 minutes, and you’ll reach the Museum Quarter. As the name suggests, you’ll find some of Amsterdam’s most impressive museums and galleries in this attractive part of town. The Rijksmuseum covers 800 years of history, with works by Dutch masters including Rembrandt, Vermeer and Van Gogh. For a deeper dive into Van Gogh, he has his own dedicated museum nearby. This area isn’t just about museums, though – it’s also home to Vondelpark, the city’s biggest open space, and the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall.
Heineken Experience
If you’re excited by the prospect of the 50 beers on offer in the hotel bar, this experience might just be for you. Take a tour of Heineken’s oldest brewery and learn about the history of the iconic beer, as well as the processes that go into making it. When you’re finished, you’ll get to have a taste, and even pour yourself a pint.
