A peaceful city-centre escape
Looking for a home-away-from-home in bustling Amsterdam? This intimate hotel – transformed from an iconic 18th-century Amsterdam townhouse and bursting with character – is it.
From its calm interior you’d never know that Vondelpark and Leidseplein are just one street away. Be like the locals and rent a bike from the hotel to explore your surroundings. Or hop on one of the many trams nearby for easy access to the city’s sights.
The hotel’s leafy private courtyard garden provides an oasis away from the crowds. Enjoy your buffet breakfast here – or a cup of tea, or nightcap. A variety of drinks and snacks can be bought from the hotel’s honesty bar at all hours.
Rooms are tastefully decorated with soft tones and vibrant art pieces. All rooms include a rainfall shower, and some have a Jacuzzi bath, too.

What Roemer has to offer
Tram stops
The hotel is ideally located between multiple tram routes. Overtoom is four minutes on foot from the hotel – with routes taking you east, towards ARTIS, or up towards Westerpark. Leidseplein is a seven-minute walk away, for trams to Centraal Station, and to the east and west neighbourhoods of Amsterdam.
Museumplein
This scenic urban park is a sight in itself – but it’s also home to Amsterdam’s landmark museums. It’s a 10-minute walk to the bottom of Museumplein from the hotel. Relax on the green, explore the Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk, or Rijksmuseum, before passing through the impressive Rijksmuseum passage – best done on bike.
Vondelpark
This is Amsterdam's most popular park – with locals and tourists alike – for good reason. Get lost among the greenery and enchanting lakes until you find your favourite spot to settle down with a picnic. Or enjoy beers and fried snacks on the Proeflokaal 't Blauwe Theehuis terrace, run by local brewery Brouwerij 't IJ.
