Max Brown Hotel Canal District

"I made a reservation through Booking.com for this weekend 1 month ago, specifying that I needed a guaranteed large double bed. They answer "we will try" What we found is that they are selling a particularly small single room as if it were a double room at the price of a room for two people. 550€ two nights for a room really really small, with a bed for one and without natural light. The small window had a wall attached that you can touch if you open it. In my opinion, that is fraud and a scam. Upon arriving at the room on Friday, I filed a complaint. They offered me a room for three people for an additional fee. This morning, their reception team was unable to handle my complaint, resorting to jokes and inappropriate remarks. The guy offered me a card with an email address to complain, and when I told him I already had it, he asked if I wanted another one. The lady told me she didn't understand the word "fraud" and made me repeat it several times. They are unprofessional and immature. Lured by its central location next to a canal, they cram you into a tiny, dark hole and charge you a fortune. I don't recommend booking at this establishment. There are much better places in the center of Amsterdam. Much nicer, more spacious, and better value."

"The best things were the view, location & staff: Paul, Jasmine & Tamar. Charming lobby. Rooms were clean & cute but noisy at night. TINY bathroom & exTREMEly narrow, steep, winding staircase to rooms. Shower leaked onto bathroom floor. Front door to our annex didn't close; made it feel unsafe."
