Hotel Arena

"Overall a pleasant stay in Amsterdam but with a few minor details which subtracted from the experience. We had a group of 10 friends and couples and booked multiple family rooms. The rooms were very spacious and had comfortable bedding and pillows. The rooms don't seem to be meant to be shared unless you're very comfortable with one another as the privacy shielding over the glass walls/door to the bathroom is semi transparent and in one room you could see the entirety of someone on the toilet from the bed. The mini fridges in the room are entirely filled with items for purchase too and so we were disappointed we could not use it for our own food or drinks. One of our rooms also lost power right after we arrived and before we had plugged anything in or started to use anything, meaning we had to walk all the way back to reception and wait for it to be fixed which was unfortunate after a long day. The location of the hotel was great. There were plenty of amazing cafes and restaurants within a short walk. Transportation into central Amsterdam was also easily accessible and quick. The best part of the hotel is definitely the luggage storage area which is easy to use and was a lifesaver on check in and check out days. Overall our stay was nice. I don't know if I would necessarily book again but the location and luggage storage were great!"

"Hotel Arena is absolutely fantastic. The only thing I would say is if you would like your room cleaned, make sure you're out of your room before 9am as we had a few lazy mornings and our room wasn't cleaned for four days lol! The location is brilliant, it's super close to tram stops so getting into central Amsterdam is so easy. Oosterpark is also beautiful, it's lovely for walks. There is also a museum about a 15 minute walk called Micropia so if you're into micro biology, this place is incredible! There's also a lot of restaurants nearby too. I booked this hotel almost a year ago and was in two minds about changing the hotel as I found out there is a 50EUR per night deposit required on top of the city tax. I was so glad I didn't amend this hotel though as we used the deposit towards room service one night when the weather was quite bad and we didn't want to go out. You can also use the deposit for room upgrades and the mini bar, or if you wanted breakfast if you only booked room only like I did. We booked the super comfy room and I was hoping for the dual level room with the bedroom upstairs however we didn't get that room. We had room 128 which was still absolutely beautiful, the sitting area in our room was so cozy and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Overall excellent hotel, I will definitely recommend to stay here if you're not fussed about being in the middle of Amsterdam center and want a hotel with a bit of charm and character. "Came to celebrate my birthday with my husband. From the moment we landed & got picked up from a private taxi in a stunning car & dropped to this absolutely beautiful hotel we were treated special, we felt special our whole stay was just special! The staff were so friendly, the room was just stunning, clean. The most comfortable bed we have EVER stayed in! Lovely quiet area 25 minute walk to the centre. We ordered room service & the food was lovely...compliments to the chef. We are 100000 per cent coming back & we can not wait!!!! Thank you hotel arena for making our stay special!!"
