Hampton by Hilton Amsterdam Arena Boulevard

"Hotel was clean and only a three minute walk to tram. Amazingly quiet for being on a busy street. Bathroom could use more hooks. Breakfast was good and offered substantial variety. The breakfast set up could have used more than one waffle maker for all the guests wanting waffles. The staff was extremely helpful with answering questions about the hotel, transportation and sights. They even packed breakfast to go for our group since we had an early morning flight before breakfast opened."

"Stayed for 4 nights and 5 days with my family at this hotel. Guest services and the Breakfast Team were very friendly and attentive. Shout out to Libertad at check in and Joanna who was very helpful throughout our stay. We had a corner room with a very nice view of the Bijlmer station and the center courtyard. The only thing is we had a problem with the bathroom sink which wasn't draining properly on the first day. Rumesca from the Front Desk was very responsive and made sure that the sink was fixed first thing in the morning. Thank you! Aside from this technical problem, I would say that bathroom door configuration is a bit odd and inconvenient. The door being a sliding door doubles as a door for the wardrobe as well. Coming out from the bathroom, without knowing if someone is standing by the wardrobe, you would easily hit them when opening the sliding door. This would be very dangerous especially if you have kids, (or even for adults). Also, this is the only Hampton Hilton hotel that I stayed in without a mini fridge. The hotel has a lot of potential. Very convenient location in front of a train station, excellent staff, decent breakfast buffet and modernized lobby. If refurbishing will extend to the rooms, also adding in a mini fridge and reconfiguring the sliding bathroom door, it will be perfect."

"When I started looking for a hotel in Amsterdam, I thought that having "Hilton" in the name would be a good indicator of quality and a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Here are a few points I liked and disliked about the hotel: Dislikes The ad claimed the room had two queen beds, but that was definitely not true. One of the "beds" was actually a sofa bed with a VERY uncomfortable mattress—I could feel every spring digging into my back. The actual bed also had a terrible mattress with uneven springs. Both "beds" were so uncomfortable that I was relieved I had only booked 7 nights. The carpet was itchy. I made the mistake of sitting on the floor to eat pizza and got very itchy afterward—thankfully, I had plenty of shirts to change into. Because the bedrooms are connected with doors, I could hear other guests speaking clearly in their rooms. The lack of streaming services on the TV was disappointing. Most of the channels were in Dutch, which wasn’t very helpful. My room key card stopped working three times, and I had to go to the front desk each time to get it fixed. Likes The location was great—easy to get to and well-connected, close to Bijlmermeer. Breakfast had good variety and plenty of options. The front desk staff was always cordial and helpful (even when I had to ask for four duvets because of the terrible bed situation). Overall For €370 a night, it was absolutely not worth it. The uncomfortable beds, where I could feel every single spring digging into me, made the stay miserable. I will definitely not be coming back. Next time I’m in Amsterdam, I’ll be looking for another hotel."
