"Stayed for 3 nights on a combined business/family trip. A great place but for one main reason I will remember them forever. Firstly the apartment: really nice, modern, comfortable, well equipped. Booked direct and got a surprise “breakfast hamper” on the first morning. Bedrooms have the most amazing blackout blinds so slept incredibly. Both myself - who was working and appreciated location beside central station - and my family who were being tourists thought it was a fantastic place. But the main story…. When I got home I realised I had left a very special item somewhere in Amsterdam. I no longer had the watch I got as a present when our first daughter was born. It was a good watch of decent value but was very sentimentally important to me. I contacted the place I was working at, the airport and Erik Vökel because I didn’t know where it was. Initially they can back saying nothing had been found. I started an insurance claim figuring it was lost forever. Then over a week later when I really had resigned myself to never seeing it again I got an email from Yana at reception saying she had my watch. A cleaner had found it and handed it in! They pieced the story together and contacted me. It was shipped Monday and back in my hands Tuesday. They went out of their way to make sure it was all done quickly and properly. It would have been so easy for anyone to just slip it into their pocket and never tell me. The honesty and service was beyond anything I could have expected. The apartment was already 5 star but this was more than I could have hoped for. Thank you to all the team at Erik Vökel."

"Zero Empathy or Flexibility During a Medical Emergency We had to cancel our booking at Eric Vökel Riverfront Suites due to an acute medical emergency resulting in emergency hospitalization. Despite providing clear context regarding the emergency, management hid behind standard "non-refundable rate" terms and refused to offer any gesture of goodwill—not even a credit note or date change for a future stay. While policies exist, boutique hospitality brands are defined by how they treat guests during exceptional circumstances. Their total lack of compassion or flexibility speaks volumes. I strongly advise prospective guests to look elsewhere—especially if there is any chance you might need a host that acts with basic human decency when life happens."

"Great apartments and very friendly reception staff. We were lucky to get a 2 bed apartment with a view of the river. Great location very close to central station which made it easy to find after a day of sightseeing. Supermarket just round the corner."
