easyHotel Amsterdam Zaandam

"This is a budget hotel and therefore very basic. I understand the hotel has 3 floors of a building, and I was on the 10th floor. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from the railway station, come out and turn left. So, nice easy access to get around. The hotel is surrounded by shops and restaurants. You could have a day out here if you didn't fancy taking a train into Amsterdam Central. As for the room, it was comfortable and adequate. Nice views from window. Limited storage space. TV, but remote didn't work, so had to stand on chair to press buttons for it's use. Towels are small. Not bath sheet size. But we asked for extra pillows and towels and the friendly receptionist was happy to give us those. Bed quite hard but I got used to it. The bathroom door, doubles as a shower door, which is a little odd, but OK. Certainly not a power shower but it did the job. Most electrical sockets working except one. Toilet stopped flushing on the day we checked out. For a budget hotel I felt it was quite expensive at over £300 per person, for 3 nights, but I understand Amsterdam is generally an expensive place to go on holiday. It was all OK, but I probably wouldn't stay there again, just because I'd probably want to try somewhere different."

"Booked this last minute as a package. As with everything know what your getting before booking. Maybe should have checked more, but worked out for me. These are no frill rooms, small but clean. Bed was really comfy, as someone who stays in hotels a lot and can't sleep this was good. There seems to be Aircon and while windows don't open there are ventilation vents. Great for a few nights, towels etc get changed in 6th day. Unless you pay a charge. Location is not down town Amsterdam, like I first thought (my mistake) but can easily get there on train ( station is 2 mins away) it is another town outside where river cruise ships stop. This worked out great for us it caters for tourists but is very much a local neighbourhood. It sits at the end of a long shopping area. Within 1 min have supermarket, Primark for emergency clothes and places to eat where locals seem to go. Walk down the end and find great place selling ice cream Top tips great location if you have no need to be in centre of Amsterdam. Easy access to airport, The Hague etc. Beware the bikes, lots of tourists stood in middle of cycle path taking selfies of the fantastic buildings. But these Ebikes stop for no one. Saw lots of near misses."
