Conscious Hotel The Tire Station

"I recently stayed at Conscious Hotel The Tire Station and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience that still has not been resolved. I reserved and paid for a Big Double room with a double bed, but when I arrived the hotel told me they could not find my reservation and the room type I had booked was no longer available. After waiting around 30 minutes at check-in, I was eventually placed in a Triple room with three single beds, which was not the room configuration I reserved. The following morning I spoke with a front desk employee named Bianca, who offered to refund the first night if I agreed to remain in the room for the second night. Based on that promise, I decided not to move hotels. Later that evening, however, the night staff told me that this refund could not be honored, which left me in a difficult position after already deciding to stay. Since then, the hotel operations manager, Matteo, has argued that the triple room is technically a “higher category,” but that misses the point entirely. The reservation was specifically for a double-bed room, which is what I paid for and what was confirmed at booking. Instead, I spent two nights sleeping in a single bed in a different room configuration. I attempted to resolve this privately with the hotel operations manager and received an out of office reply for two weeks, and later escalated the issue to the Director of Operations at the Conscious Hotels group, but I have not received a response. At the end of the day, the issue is simple: I paid for a specific room that was not provided, and a refund that was promised during my stay was later withdrawn. I’m sharing this experience in the hope that the hotel will review the situation and provide a fair resolution."

"About 200m from the tram stop - €2 / 20 mins on the number 17 to the central station this was a great choice. Although a little out - 40 mins walk which was very doable - rooms were great - we had a triple bedded room - good size, decent bathroom and WiFi. Really good public areas with a bar and food and good attentive staff. If you want a cheaper alternative to typical Amsterdam prices, it’s worth looking at"

"Very comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast buffet with lots of choice. Everything offered at the buffet was healthy and delicious. Friendly staff."
