"Extremely Disappointing Experience – Poor Cleanliness and Unprofessional Handling of Complaints I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel and, more importantly, with how management has handled a serious cleanliness complaint. Upon checking into our room, we discovered an open condom packet, crumbs on the floor and bloodstained bedsheets. These are completely unacceptable hygiene standards for any hotel, let alone one where guests are paying for a comfortable and clean stay. I raised these concerns with the hotel during our stay and was advised that the matter would be dealt with. I subsequently spoke with Sean Paul, who agreed to refund one of our rooms in full and explained that the refund would be processed directly to my bank account. However, the hotel has now gone back on that agreement and is refusing to issue the refund, citing allegations about smoking inside the room and vaping in the lobby, which I strongly dispute. Smoking took place outside the hotel, and no one in our party vaped in the lobby. What makes this situation even more frustrating is that these alleged concerns were never brought to our attention during our stay, despite our rooms being cleaned daily. Instead of taking accountability for the original hygiene issues and honouring the refund that was agreed, the hotel is now using these allegations to justify its refusal. The cleanliness of the room was the reason for our complaint, and nothing raised afterwards changes the fact that we were provided with a room containing bloodstained bedding and an open condom packet. I find the handling of this matter extremely disappointing and the lack of consistency from management unacceptable. A verbal agreement was made, and I expected the hotel to honour its commitment rather than change its position afterwards. I would strongly encourage management to review both its housekeeping standards and its approach to resolving guest complaints. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to return or recommend this hotel to others. A disappointing stay made considerably worse by the way the complaint and promised refund have been handled."

"We spent four nights at the Citiez Hotel Amsterdam from 08/10/2026 to 08/14/2026. On the first night, we had to sleep in a room that had massive mold on the wall directly behind the bed. ​Any reaction or insight from the hotel? None whatsoever. According to the intermediary, the hotel strictly refuses to provide reasonable compensation for this unacceptable and health-hazardous condition. Photos for documentation are available. ​Anyone who values hygiene, health, and fair treatment regarding complaints should definitely avoid this accommodation!"

"The hotel occupies only one floor out of that building, but they do have elevator from the lobby. Right next to Meervaart if you're into this kind of stuff (Meer means more and you know what Vaart means). Easy trip from the airport on bus 369 (don't forget to tap out). About 30 minutes walk or a quick tram ride to Lelylaan station where you can be in the airport or central station in few minutes. Each room named after a city. Be careful of the drop when you enter. Room is big enough for a mattress and you also get a sink next to it. Private shower and toilet on the other side of the wall. It can get a little noisy from the seagulls and people outside shopping in the plaza. If the TV was so smart, why would it be near the ceiling? It was not usable since there are no local channels and it resets YouTube to Dutch whenever you turn it on."
