Apple Inn Hotel

"(25-28/09/2026): We stayed as four adults in the family room. The beds were comfortable and the room clean. Towels and body/hair wash was provided. Room stayed cool with temperatures hitting 22 degrees celsius during our trip. Was also generally quiet. The hotel is in an exceptional area, near both Vondelpark and the Valeriusplein tram stop which will take you to Leylaan (or Amsterdam Central) train station for access to the airport and into Amsterdam past the museum quarter, through the town, and down to Amsterdam Central. We struggled as four adults with only two (three with the television unplugged) power sockets but managed and believed we saw power banks available at reception. Good value for money. Would definitely stay again!"

"Rooms are quite basic, but fine for a few days. I read some negative reviews beforehand but don’t pay too much attention. Yes, like most hotels, they could all do with a spruce up, the carpets have a few patches of, maybe, bleach. Housekeeping always make a mess of the doorways with their trolleys and Apple Hotel is no exception, even the big hotels aren’t immune to the housekeeping’s trollies. Could hand done with a bedside table but I improvised with the stool. The water does come out of the shower so need towels to mop up. The stairs are steep and there is no lift, but this is an old Amsterdam town house so was to be expected. Only issue was with suitcase but the very helpful guy on the desk zoomed upstairs for our case, he’s clearly used to the stairs. This hotel is in a good location, right on the tram routes, close to the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum. We really enjoyed our time in Amsterdam"

"On the pictures it looked like a nice and cozy city hotel, with an atmospheric bar.... no idea who took those pictures or when, because unfortunately it doesn't compare to the pictures. Very dated hotel: paint peeling everywhere, carpet in stairwell full of stains. Room is terrible. Upon entering it was already clear that there was not cleaned properly, on the chair were hairs, mold in the shower ventilation grille where dust threads hang from. The room on the 2nd floor is completely crooked, but well you can throw that on the charm of an old hotel. heating can not be turned off, in the middle of July! Power button of TV does not work, by pressing other buttons of remote control, TV comes on, but then can not get off, have to control via timer. Also buttons on the side do not work, while searching for buttons on TV also looked on top, I should not have done. I really don't necessarily need luxury, but I think a clean room is a requirement. Definitely not worth the money."
