"As a new World of Hyatt member, I wanted my first Lifestyle-brand stay to feel thoughtful and immersive. Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht felt like the right choice—creative, walkable, and rooted in the city’s story.
From the phenomenal service of the Andaz team to the hotel’s high-energy atmosphere, this brief stay lingered long after check-out—and made me want more time.

👁️👁 VIDĒ! — SEE
After countless layovers at Amsterdam’s airport—an experience I don’t particularly enjoy—it felt good to finally step outside and actually see the city.
I chose Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht for its location, and it immediately proved to be the right decision. The hotel sits in a walkable pocket of the city, making it easy to explore both iconic and unexpected spots. From the famous cookie shop Het Koekemannetje, to the Moco Museum, and two standout restaurants I stumbled upon and highly recommend—The Secret Garden and Gertrude’s—everything felt conveniently within reach.
The hotel itself is postcard-perfect and lives up to every image you see online. Once a public library, the building carries a sense of history while embracing bold, contemporary design—very much in line with Amsterdam’s creative spirit.

👄 GUSTĀ! — TASTE
I added the $35 breakfast supplement upon check-in and it was well worth it. While the restaurant offers a buffet, calling it that feels almost misleading. This felt more like dining in a chef’s kitchen—abundant, elevated, and thoughtfully prepared.
You can order à la carte in addition to the spread, which made the experience feel more personal. I was especially excited to see shakshuka on the menu, and it delivered—rich, comforting, and flavorful.
One thing I truly appreciate about World of Hyatt is the flexibility around breakfast. If it’s included, you can enjoy it in the restaurant or opt for room service. I did both, and the room service breakfast was just as satisfying—no drop in quality.
In the evenings, the lobby bar came alive with energy. The check-in area is separate from the bar, which allows the space to transform effortlessly. Some evenings they host gin tastings, adding to the social, high-energy vibe. Unfortunately I missed it because I got lost in Amsterdam--in a good way.

🤚🏾 TANGĒ! — TOUCH
I arrived in the morning and was pleasantly surprised with an early check-in and an upgrade from a queen to a king room—a very welcome start to a short stay.
I stayed in Room 121, and my first thought upon entering was, “I’m sleeping with the fishes.” A large fish mural dominates the wall, instantly setting a whimsical, slightly surreal tone.
The bathroom and shower are open-concept, while the toilet is enclosed behind its own door—covered in playful wallpaper filled with random facts about Amsterdam’s history. It’s unexpected, entertaining, and very Andaz.
The room felt cozy yet functional—spacious enough for a few days, without encouraging too much lounging. Closet space was excellent and easily accommodated my XL trunk luggage, something I always notice and appreciate.
While I had hoped for a canal-view room because I have an affinity for water—and canals are part of Amsterdam’s soul. I was given a garden view instead which was charming and a bit eclectic.

🌙 DORMĪ - SLEEP
The bed was comfortable—nothing extraordinary, nothing disappointing. And sometimes, that’s exactly what you want. I slept well and woke up rested, which mattered most given my packed schedule.
The towels deserve a mention: full, plush, and fluffy—just the way I like them.

🖤 Final Thoughts
This stay was far too short, and it left me wanting more. More time, more wandering, more of the city and more of Andaz!
I already know I’ll return to Amsterdam, and when I do, I’ll stay at Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht again.
Next time, though, I’ll be booking a suite with a canal view!
