"Just returned from a European trip which had us staying 4 of the nights in the Amsterdam Marriott. We reserved an Executive Suite that included both M Club access and breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
To summarize - Great hotel, great location, fabulous service, and the M Club food is perhaps the best I have ever had in a hotel club lounge (pics included). Very good food! The breakfasts in the restaurant were also fantastic.
The room was in Marriott style and the suite allowed us to relax. We also had a balcony looking out over central Amsterdam (day and night pics included). Good room amenities and a comfortable sleep.
The hotel location for tourists is amazing. The hotel is near (walking distance) the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, Vondelpark, the dock for the Blue Boat canal tours, and the Amsterdam Casino. Across the street was a trolley stop and the trolley would take you near most of the other big sites (Anne Frank House, Dam Square, New Church, Old Church, Red Light District) for less than $2 each direction.
Leaving the best for last - the service at the hotel was superb! All of the staff from the folks at the entry to the concierge to the front desk staff to the M Club staff to the hostesses at the restaurant were all eager to assist and always with a smile. Very impressive service throughout the stay.
A few shoutouts - Christine and Joao in the M Club both went over and above to make sure we were comfortable and both engaged us in conversation. Christine discussed the M Club food options with us for our opinion and we thank Joao for his tips on how and where to visit Portugal.
Finally, a huge shout out to Carla Martin Peral. We received an email from her prior to arrival and she seemed to always be around with a smile and some kind of personalized service, from recommendations on Stroopwafels to tips on how to ride the trolley like a local. I know there were many other hotel guests, but Carla always made us feel like we were the only ones. A true professional that made our stay more memorable. We wish her well in her Marriott career.
