Hotel Riu Tikida Garden

"We've had a fantastic holiday at the Riu Tikida in Marrakech with TUI, and what a wonderful experience it's been! The hotel is lovely, with beautiful surroundings and a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere. The cleanliness is excellent! The hotel is kept spotless, and everywhere you look, the staff are busy cleaning and maintaining the facilities. You can really see the effort that goes into keeping everything looking its best. The staff are absolutely amazing! Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and hardworking, and nothing is ever too much trouble. They genuinely go out of their way to make sure you have a lovely holiday and are a real credit to the hotel. The food is good, with plenty of choice, and you can always find something you enjoy. There's something to suit most tastes, and we certainly haven't gone hungry! The spa was fantastic! A lovely experience and definitely worth a visit for some relaxation and pampering. Getting into Marrakech is easy. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus, which is a great bonus. We also used the local yellow taxis and paid 150 MAD for our journey. The taxi drivers we used were friendly, and it was another convenient way to get out and explore. A couple of little tips for anyone visiting: If you like tea or coffee in your room, ask at the Zanzibar Bar for bottled water and some milk. The staff were more than happy to help, and once again, nothing was too much trouble. I've also seen comments about the coffee only being available from machines. If you prefer a proper pot of coffee, just ask! We found the staff very accommodating and happy to provide one. We've had a wonderful time exploring Marrakech, wandering through the souks, visiting the Atlas Mountains, learning about the local Amazigh culture and enjoying a fantastic evening in the desert. The hotel has been a lovely place to return to after our adventures. Overall, we've thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The wonderful staff, excellent cleanliness, good food, fantastic spa and relaxing atmosphere have all contributed to a brilliant holiday. My biggest compliment has to go to the staff. They work incredibly hard, always have a smile and really make this hotel what it is. A huge thank you to everyone at Riu Tikida and TUI. We would definitely recommend this hotel and would happily return! 🇲🇦"

"Second time at the hotel this year. My favourite place. All the staff are lovely! Special mentions to Mo, animation team & Tarik, bar staff & Foudel, pool staff! These guys are always smiling and happy to talk at any time, making me feel welcomed and at home. Three amazing people who made our holiday amazing. Will definitely be back! Lovely place to be 🙏🏼🙏🏼"

"Hotel is in beautiful, well looked after grounds. Staff here are very friendly apart from in reception, they always appeared very grumpy and unhelpful. Pools are lovely and clean, loungers are not very comfortable, towels are small and don’t cover the whole lounger. The loungers get very hot in the sun without the protection of a towel. Never had an issue getting a lounger for the day. Shuttle bus into Marrakesh runs frequently to explore the souks. The main area of our room was ok, the bathroom was not! Mould, broken tiles, drain that didn’t fit in the shower properly, leaky shower all over the floor and very poor toiletries for an all inclusive; hand soap and combined shampoo/shower gel. No bottled drinking water in the room. You have to get this yourself from the bar. Tea and coffee in the room but no milk. Again you have to get this yourself from the bar. I tried to order milk using the app, received a message to say this had been completed but it hadn’t. This was when I was told you had to get it yourself. I’ve never experienced this in any other all inclusive. Food was a big disappointment. Whilst it tasted ok every lunch and dinner option was the exact same food. No variety. Luckily we were only there for 5 days as we were bored of the food already. There was always a shortage of spoons. We observed people putting them in bags to make sure they had one at the next meal! Entertainment was poor. Whilst sat in the inside bar one evening a rat ran under the sofa we were sat on. I spoke to the Tui rep about our concerns and he said he was aware that this hotel did not match other Tui Blue properties he had worked in and spoke about a dispute between RIU and Tui over the hotel. No courtesy room if you have a late flight. There are showers but no hair drying facilities etc. We asked for late check out and paid 680 dirhams for this."
