"Superb hotel, great location, Sabi club was excellent, quiet spaces to enjoy the sunshine by the pool, livelier available should you wish. Ombré and Sabi restaurants outstanding food and service. Cleanliness excellent particularly Marie Gabriel who looked after our room. Some good music most evenings in the Juniper bar. I’d visit Malta again for sure"

"We have returned recently from our much awaited for holiday, to feel a little deflated to be honest. I had avidly read the reviews on here eagerly excited about the amazing hotel and service others have experienced and raved about. Only to be sorely disappointed in the total lack of service we had. Not all bad, let's start with the positives - Pros: The room was big and well equipped. Miracle was really lovely and always approached us with a smile in Azure. Jason was lovely and made the biggest welcome to us in Ombre but he was moved to Sabi, so sadly we didn't see him again. Bibek was very good in both Ombre and Juniper, each time. The cleaning team created the towels into animals, which our kids loved! The animation team worked endlessly. There was a great amount of sockets and USB ports in room. The bed was comfy. The indoor pool was great, super addition and nice and warm. Limonata bar was great to swim up to and grab a drink from. However, these were the negatives we couldn't ignore - Cons: We could have benefitted with drinking water in our room. There was a mini bar so easily could have put some in there. 2 cups were in our room with the kettle, not 4, which you wouldn't expect in a twin room, with 2 x double beds. We asked the staff on the front desk for more cups, who claimed they'd sort it but in fact did nothing, so we followed it up with the cleaning staff. The service from front desk was awful, pretty much every visit we made there, to a number of different staff. Ombre service was not attentive when we had our 1 dinner there and the service member of staff was barely listening. We needed to keep requesting everything again. Our plates were taken in all restaurants far too quickly, without asking if we were done. The food is average at best, very school dinner like in Azure. I was excited to try the paella the first night but saddened to see it was coloured rice (not paella rice) small, tiny prawns and a small shellfish. All basic and bland. We had 2 very disappointed children most the week, who struggled to find food they'd eat. The nice presentation and choices are saved for places like Ombre, which isn't included in all inclusive package. When asked questions about Ombre the front desk couldn't answer them. Sabi beach isn't exactly a private beach but actually just sun loungers on the side of the rocky edge of the sea. There was sunbed saving in the mornings by the pools at the hotel, where people didn't return to them until much later. The woman in the shop on site was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. Our Sabi meal didn't include drinks after 6pm, despite being all inclusive and being able to use this restaurant once, as part of our booking. The ice cream is advertised from 10am in Ombre but it was never ready from 10am more like 11 sometimes 12. The hotel is on a main, busy road. Always traffic and noise coming from it. Would I stay here again? No. It didn't live up to the hype I had read and all I had wanted from my holdiay. The key staff previously mentioned in other people's reviews were not people I generally saw and whether that made a difference to my experience or not, I don't know. I do know that the majority of the staff I did encounter, did not offer a friendly service, with a helpful attitude, bar the lovely few I have mentioned."
