Biasutti Hotel

"Tiny room. Unaccommodating receptionist. Biasutti Hotel Lido Venice Six family members. Three rooms.Two Nights Our room had no space for luggage. My wife and I had to remove the TV paraphernalia and use that bureau space for one of the checked in luggage. The other checked in luggage had to be placed in a closet over the safe. An end table was used to support it. Access to the safe~difficult. Originally the suitcase was placed on the floor, but it blocked the entry door. One carry-on on the remaining night table close to the pillow. The other - on the floor. (We returned the room to its original setting on departure.) I brought this to the attention of the receptionist gentleman who didn’t care about our situation.. He wasn’t focussed on my complaint and entertained other customers as they approached him. He refused my request to come and see how crowded the room was for international travellers. He also wasn’t impressed that my wife and I for two nights were footing the bill for three rooms: one for our grandchildren, one for our son and his wife, and one for ourselves. He also didn’t seem to be impressed that my wife had fallen earlier that day and her knee was severely bruised. She needed medical attention for preventative blood clots which she eventually received in Florence. Icing her knee was not sufficient. I told him that it was difficult for her to get around in that small space. He indicated that she shouldn’t be walking around anyway, considering that her leg was bruised and swollen. How gracious of him? We are both in our late 70s and have travelled extensively. Never in our many travels have we experienced such lack of compassion and professionalism . We will never use the Biasutti Lido Hotel or affiliates again and avoid any future Trafalgar trips using the same. Our excellent Trafalgar tour guide intervened, but was also unsuccessful. A larger room was available that night for an extra €200. To my knowledge, it sat empty as it was late in the day to rent it out. He was not interested in providing any sort of goodwill. Is this the face of the Biasutti Hotel to the international community? I asked to speak to his supervisor or owner. He refused to provide that information. He said the owner was unavailable. Considering the money spent on 3 rooms as a family of six for two nights, one would think that the hotel would gave been more accommodating."

"The hotel is in an excellent location, halfway between the vaporetto stop and the beach, on a quiet side street but very close to the streets with bars and shops. The property is large, a bit old-fashioned even in the keys with the huge keychain, but absolutely comfortable. The lobby and the outdoor terrace are spacious, the rooms are well furnished, with plenty of surface space even in the bathroom. The beds are comfortable and there is a choice between two types of pillows. There is also a coffee machine. Breakfast is set up in a beautiful sunny room that gives the impression of being immersed in greenery. The buffet includes sweet and savory cakes, croissants, yogurt, cereals, pancakes, eggs, cold cuts, and cheeses. The staff is courteous and very helpful."

"The hotel is a fantastic villa originally and still owned by the Biasut family. The hotel is quietly located in a very quiet street flanked by beautiful villas in Libertystil with gardens around. The room we got was small, but comfortable. Small but functional bathroom. Good bed. We asked for a balcony and got a big nice balcony, but unfortunately only with an uncomfortable and ugly 2-seat in plastic and a small plastic table. Here the hotel should have a small sitting table with two chairs and two sun loungers in addition, more than enough space for it on the large balcony that could be much more pleasant and sit on in the evening. The breakfast is good and varied, and the patio for breakfast is nice, but unfortunately it is cruel MUZAK, i.e. tiring shopping center music continuously in the background from loudspeakers in the ceiling both outside and inside the breakfast hall that disturbs. Who thinks that guests like that kind of tiring, intetsigent music all day - and for breakfast?? Coffee is not good! That's a big disappointment. In Italy, coffee is a national pride. When a 4-star hotel serves coffee from a Nespress Machine, it doesn’t keep a mark. We asked for a proper coffee from an unused espresso machine behind the plate in the breakfast hall and got kindly made one. Unfortunately, it was as tasteless and drained as Nespressokaffen. As they say in Italy: "Un buon caffè dev`essere nero come la notte, dolce come l`amore e caldo come l`inferno" - it was by no means such a coffee we got at the hotel. The hotel staff is welcoming and friendly, the area is clean and neat and the hotel is 5 minutes from the main street."
