Hotel Dania

"Just had three nights there, friendly staff, good breakfast evening meals are ok, lovely pool and area, clean basic room with a decent shower and I had a nice view. The negatives are no lift, the bus stop is close but no footpath and you have two separate bus companies to get tickets for. Overall a good value hotel, if you have mobility issues ask before you book."

"Good hotel, far from the center of Sorrento, with a mediocre breakfast. A hotel with terrible service, we wanted to have dinner and the person who served us had no experience, they still use a ticket to place the order, very archaic and slow system. We wanted to have a wine at night, using one of the empty tables on the balcony, and the employee said it was not allowed. To finish the parking lot is expensive and very crowded. I do not recommend this hotel."

"I am sad to say that I hoped to like this place more than I did. On the positive side, it is very low price compared to the area it is located and has a stunning view from the terrace where I truly enjoyed several sunsets in my 3 night stay. The pool is also very nice and clean. There were two different ladies who worked at the terrace snack bar/restaurant who were kind and provided good service. The things that made me not happy with my stay were mostly service and room related. I was in a basement room two floors down from the lobby with no elevator and the bed was rock hard with only a sheet (no blanket)- it also seemed they were trying to dissuade you from using air conditioning though it was 90 degrees out. The biggest thing for me was the service. I just didn’t feel it. No one seemed even a little happy I was there, which is odd for a hotel. I expected it to be more welcoming. The older lady in the breakfast area actually seemed mad each morning. The biggest thing for me was that every single time I asked staff a question (how to get back up the hill from the beach (the shuttle they recommended said no), how big the boat would be on the Capri tour they organize (it was small) , whether my taxi would take credit cards (said yes, taxi said no), they gave me incorrect information. This put me in uncomfortable situations repeatedly. Good information is the one thing you should be able to count on when in a hotel in a new (and rather remote) location. I personally would not stay again- but will say for the Hotel Dania that they could improve the experience dramatically by training staff differently and being more welcoming and reliable for guests- which is free. I stayed in 8 hotels while in Italy (2 in Sorrento as I moved) and this was the only one that I was unhappy with the service."
