Hilton Sorrento Palace

"The hotel is large and located just above the town, ideal for exploring. The lobby is immaculate and the receptionists are nice. I appreciated the Diamond upgrade. The breakfast is also good. I would give this property a 9/10. I do recommend booking early because it fills up. What is lacking is that you feel like you are a vacationer at the property during a conference. You are roped in to the feeling of being a cog in the conference system at personal cost. Here is what I mean. Breakfast was not ready right at 7 AM when it opened, they were still setting up omelets. Once they did, you were flooded with conference attedees lining up for them. Not your usual experience at a hotel right when it opens, where everyone floods early to get breakfast. Similar for the pool, it closed with no notice for an event for the conference. And so it felt a bit like we were at a conference, except paid for generously out of our own pocket books. This could be mitigated by having separate areas perhaps for conference attendees, or staggering their use of facilities so as not to impact hotel guests quite as much. It just made it feel corporate rather than a vacation at a resort in Italy. Staff were so friendly including doormen, etc. really everyone!"

"I have stayed at some really amazing hotels/resorts, but this one tops them all! The views will leave you speechless! It was a great romantic getaway! We were impressed with every restaurant on site. Truly some culinary brilliance! I have to give special kudos to IL PAGODY the pool restaurant and bar; they went above and beyond for us. These guys made us the best pizza we had on our whole trip. I asked the chef what he ate for lunch and he made it for us! He later brought us a special Nutella Pizza that everyone thought was the best! The staff had fun with us and really made the experience above my expectations and really memorable! We will return! All the staff were really friendly and willing to help if we had a need! I only wish we would have stayed here longer!"

"Let's start with the positive aspects: amazing breakfast, good lunch, excellent cleanliness of the rooms. The building is too big and looks like a barracks, the rooms lack personality, and between the walls and the furnishings like the bedspreads, it feels like being in a hospital. The gym is nice"
