Hotel Giosue a Mare

"Sorrento is amazing, the hotel is in a great location with it’s own beach, the rooms are very clean, however if you get room 301 or 302 you are above the tunnel on the main road, this is quite noisy at night as vehicles sound their horns coming round the corner. The staff are really friendly especially the cleaners and the sun bed staff. The food in the restaurant is hit and miss with some very good food and some mediocre. Sorrento itself is beautiful with amazing restaurants and bars. The major disappointment was when we checked out a 10am, to be told we had to pay for the beach, we weren’t getting picked up until 17:00, this is not good enough, and the receptionist who checked us out was very matter of fact and not very accommodating. Other than that we had a fantastic holiday, visits to Tico Tico and the crew bar, both just down from the hotel are a must, the food and service in both are excellent."

"Fantastic hotel, every member of the staff so friendly and helpful. Private beech is cleaned every night. Wide choice of breakfast taken overlooking the sea. Bedrooms are clean and modern. The roof top restaurant and bar is great, you eat and drink whilst watching the sunset, we were on half board with a varied selection of 3 course meals each evening which we all enjoyed. The hotel offers a shuttle during the day to the railway station and will also collect you from the drop off point by just calling them, we used this 3 times & they were there within minutes . They have a minibus you can book from 16.30 - 22.30 to take you into Sorrento and collect you, also 100m down the hill there is a public transport bus (number 008) that runs every 20 minutes for €2 that goes to Sorrento and runs until about midnight. An excellent stay & with the hotels own private beach right outside with safe swimming the location is ideal."
