Hotel Giosue a Mare

"This is a holiday for our anniversary. The hotel was ok, clean and Maria on the reception was really nice and helpful as unfortunately our room was a let down as our view was dreadful we just had a mud cliff, Maria has said she would try to move us. We decided to eat in the restaurant and went upstairs. All I can say is DONT BOTHER!! The food arrived freezing cold not once but twice and every dish was sent back as it was cold. How anyone can ruin steak and potatoes is beyond me but they can. The grilled mixed fish dish was raw. I just can not believe they served food so bad. At the end the asked how was the food and I told them it was bad and I don’t think they believed me. Hubby and our friend went to the counter and they knocked €30 off the bill so it was still over charged at €189. I told the mouthy woman as she was screaming that they pay the bill. So it was paid so we could leave. The woman told us tomorrow the food would be better. I told her I’ll never go back. Take my word for it. Leave it and go somewhere else. 4 star never and it needs a review of the award."

"Jet2 hol. Hotel very clean. Entrance underwhelming and on a bend in the road. Reception and receptionists nice. There is a lift which has a mind of its own...we got stuck in it first day! Rooms lovely, spacious, lots of storage, modern. Decent size balcony. The view from our room and balcony was astounding! Breakfast was okay...nice crispy bacon and eggs anyway you want...to order from waiters. The rest is buffet..help yourself to drinks, toast, waffles, etc. The beach is cleaned twice daily. The lifeguard will take sunbeds to your chosen spot. I'm not sure where the paying area is....think it's the first row from the sea at either side. Beach bar inside hotel not greatly stocked. They also do food to take out to the beach or can sit undercover with waiter service. The staff are hard-working and an asset to this hotel. Downsides...the hotel would benefit from having a little shop where essentials could be purchased. We needed more milk, sun lotion, hand wipes etc. I was dieing for some chocolate while there so maybe a few sweets aswell. There are no shops around this area. Also, very few places to eat on an evening. We ate at the hotel restaurant once. Food was ok but didn't warrant the extortionate prices. The hotel is about 2 mins walk downhill to a bus stop that takes you to Sorrento for 2e and runs every 20 mins. While we were there, there was a festival on which lasted 3 days but the fireworks lasted about 5...some being let off at half seven in the morning!"

"My wife and i just had 7 nights ,an absolute gem of a hotel ,staff brilliant ,food fantastic , views to die for . Great bus servicd into sorrento ,sad to leave"
