Catone District Hotel

"We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The first night the room we had 118 Aircon was not working. I let the polite lady know on reception she put an aircon unit in our room for the night. We moved to room 120 the next day room was ready just after 11.00am. Aircon worked grate. The room was much bigger and spacious. The hotel is in the best location. We walked to the Spanish steps took my husband and i, 30 minutes. We got taxi back due to the heat. The main attractions were all close by. Taxi rank within 2 minutes walk. Min fare is 9 euros. We didn't book breakfast with the hotel. Lots of nice local places to eat. Lots of shops in the area. Vatican museum 5 minutes walk. If you queue takes a while. I recommend pre booking you get straight in. I would book the tour if you go in yourself Limited to what you can see. Back to the hotel. I asked for late checkout they gave us till 1.00pm complimentary that was the manager. Checkout is 11.00am. All the staff are polite. The rooms are tired. They need updating more so the bathrooms. This didn't spoil our stay. Great location. Lovely staff. We enjoyed our stay thank you."

"The hotel is extremely well located in a quiet neighborhood. Restaurants and shops one minute away. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. But unfortunately, the room conditions were far below the standards we reasonably expected. The air conditioning was not functioning properly despite outside temperatures averaging 32°C, making the room extremely uncomfortable throughout our stay. In addition, there was a very noisy air vent on the ceiling which continuously disturbed us during the night and prevented us from sleeping properly. The room also had a strong odor of mildew, which made the environment extremely unpleasant And finally, the refrigerator in the room broke down on the second evening of our stay, causing further inconvenience. Even if the reception staff were charming and took note of these issues during our stay, no satisfactory solution was provided and the problems remained unresolved during our stay. Given the accumulation of these inconveniences and the impact they had on our comfort, we requested a financial compensation for the failure to provide a decent level of accommodation. Two months later our request is still unattended to."
