"Before I Start just a couple of pointers before arriving at hotel 2nd June every year they celebrate republican day so our flight was delayed as couldn’t land at ciampino Airport until after 12pm and the roads are closed due to the parade also it’s easier to get a taxi at the Airport to the hotel it’s €40 fixed price so a lot quicker than getting the bus or train. When we arrived at the hotel we got a warm welcome and we were given a room on the 2nd floor room 211 the key is like a chess piece and made of brass but we handed this in every time we went outside the hotel. When we entered our room it was clean and bathroom was well equipped with a shower and all complimentary shampoo shower gel and hand wash and also provided towels. There is also Air con in the room. We also had a big balcony that overlooked a busy road that did get quite busy at rush hour times and police sirens every now and then, Breakfast was good restaurant seats about 40 people but get down there for around 930am it’s a-lot quieter they do eggs bacon sausages toast cold meats pastry’s, muffins cereal yogurt and fresh fruit so good selection. Outside the hotel you can turn right down the steps to some attractions if you walk out and turn left but cross the road and walk up more attractions and it kinda goes round in a big circle it’s very close to most attractions Trevi Fountain 5/7 minute walk that gets very busy, The Colosseum is a 10 minute walk book well in advance for a ticket we bought the £18 ticket and that is literally just the arena this is not really detailed in the description you need to purchase the £24 if you want to go to the upper levels otherwise it’s literally just the arena floor arrive 5 mins before your scheduled time and wear good shoes, The Spanish steps are a must see that’s about a 15 minute walk please be aware of street sellers with bracelets, bottles of water, phone chargers , single roses and umbrellas just say no thank you and walk away because as soon as you start talking to them they put stuff in your hand and they make you buy it, the hotel is in walking distance of so much and it is a lot of walking it can get very hot so fill your water bottles up at the hotel at breakfast and there is free water fountains everywhere for you to refill, Gelato is very good stay away from restaurants near landmarks more pricey back alley restaurants are reasonably priced also most restaurants when you sit down will put a basket of bread on your table and then charge you €4 on your bill we just said no thank you and they take it away you will get lost so having data and maps on your phone is a good idea just be careful when crossing roads as the have pedestrian crossings some are safe with lights others you just need to walk out on them and hope the traffic stops overall a great city break and if returned would stay at this hotel"
