"It would have been fairly easy for this apparently fairly new hotel to get a more generous score from me, given that the location, while not central, is fairly close to a metro station, and the rooms compare favorably in size and quality with more expensive hotels located more centrally. Unfortunately, the executive lounge was a complete waste of time. The unhealthy and uninteresting selection of food there in the evening was visibly inspired by the desire to economize. One might easily forget that the hotel is in Italy, one of the most interesting countries in the world when it comes to cuisine; in this executive lounge the hotel might just as well have been in a country without any food worthy of mention. In the app I could not check out - the checkout option just took me to a page that said this was where I would check out later. Later, without having done anything myself, the app indeed showed me as checked out. That notification was accompanied by the promise of my invoice by email. The invoice never came. Two days later, Hilton's AI chat, useless as usual, offers the option of requesting a receipt but could then only tell me that "the hotel receipt is unavailable." The app then offered to connect me with the hotel, but the outcome of that was "we are temporarily offline." A response came later, asking me to submit the request by email. I did so and then finally got the receipt (in an email addressed to "Dear Ms. Brown"). I don't understand why Hilton not only doesn't provide me the receipt proactively (which it had said it would), but then makes it difficult to request it."

"We stayed at this hotel with an Italy tour through Gate 1 Travel Company. There were 34 people on this tour including my husband & myself. We were in room 1208. Pros: The room was modern and in the Financial District of Rome. It was located on the 12th floor so we had a great view. It had 2 double beds that were not twin beds pushed together as is typical in Europe. The room was very spacious. It had a safe that fit our 2 laptop computers and other items. The staff for breakfast was outstanding especially Gina that went above & beyond to have the Chef make my husband's special request for eggs in a hole. They came out great! Thank Gina & Chef! Cons: There were always 1 or 2 elevators out of 6 not working so at times there was a long wait for them. The air conditioning controls in our room did not work. We had to constantly call the Front Desk to have them adjust them since they could control individual rooms from there. One night at 2am, no one answered & my husband had to go down to the Front Desk about the air. He was very surprised to see 2 men standing at the desk doing nothing. Why didn't they answer the phones!?! He was so mad after that as you can imagine. Every time we took a shower, the water leaked out under the door. This created a huge mess by the sink. We had to put towels down just to soak up the water. Be aware that the doors to the toilet & shower are frosted glass & see through. The "bathroom" area is not closed of from the rest of the room so if you don't want your roommate to see you, do not share rooms. Not many restaurants/food choices near the hotel & the hotel's restaurant was rather expensive. I would not recommend this hotel if you want to be close to the ancient Roman ruins. It is far away & you would need to take a taxi which was 30 euros each way or metro to get there."
