"My wife and I stayed at Hotel Degli Aranci while celebrating our 10th anniversary in Italy, and the staff genuinely became one of the most memorable parts of our time in Rome.
From the moment we arrived, everyone was warm, welcoming, and attentive. By the end of our stay, the staff knew us, greeted us with smiles whenever we came through the lobby, and consistently made an effort to make sure we were comfortable and happy. The service felt personal in a way that is increasingly rare.
April, the Front Office Manager, was exceptional. She seemed to be there almost every time we came through the hotel and was constantly keeping up with us, checking on how things were going, and making sure we were enjoying our stay. She paid attention to the little details and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another room number. Before we left, she told us that the next time we return to Rome, we should email her directly and she would take care of us. After the experience we had, we absolutely will.
Sara was wonderful from the moment we arrived. We got to the hotel extremely early, and to make things more stressful, the airline had lost our luggage. Our room understandably was not ready yet, but Sara did much more than simply ask us to wait. She personally walked us to the lounge, made sure we were comfortable, gave us recommendations, and then came to find us as soon as they were able to arrange an early check-in.
Because we were without our luggage, Sara also helped us figure out where we could buy clothes and other things we needed. Throughout the rest of our stay she was consistently pleasant, responsive, and helpful, and she gave us several great restaurant recommendations. On our final day, Sara personally handed us a handwritten farewell card from the hotel team along with some candy. It was a small gesture, but an incredibly thoughtful one and a perfect way to end our stay.
Lulu was also fantastic. She gave us excellent recommendations for both transportation and food. She recommended Pasta e Vino in Trastevere, which turned out to be an amazing dinner and one of our favorite meals in Rome. She also helped us arrange a taxi at a much better fare than what we were seeing through Uber, which we really appreciated.
Aibel, our server in the restaurant, showed the same level of care and attention. She made sure we were well taken care of with drinks and everything we needed. When she learned that we had to leave the hotel around 6:15 AM for an early Pompeii and Amalfi Coast tour, she recommended that we arrange a breakfast to go. She then took it upon herself to look up whether taking the train that early would make sense for getting to our tour meeting point. That level of initiative and concern for guests really stood out to us.
And it was not just these individuals. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and seemed genuinely interested in helping however they could. They recognized us, greeted us warmly, answered questions, gave recommendations, and made sure we felt taken care of throughout the entire stay.
We came to Rome as part of a very special 10th anniversary trip, and Hotel Degli Aranci added something to the experience that we did not expect. The handwritten farewell card, the candy, the personal recommendations, the constant check-ins, and all of the small acts of kindness made the hotel feel much more personal than a typical stay.
Thank you to April, Sara, Lulu, Aibel, and the entire Hotel Degli Aranci team for helping make our anniversary trip so memorable.
When we return to Rome, we already know where we want to stay. Five stars without hesitation."
